It's just 23:25 on Thursday here as I type.

I have asked one of the mods to move my thread to this area of the forum and added a load more images and a small video.
Hopefully they will do it and I will use it as the basis of my build thread.

I am off Monday, if you aren't bothered about watching me get my hands dirty. I can take pictures.

I haven't asked about tomorrow but suspect 3 Saturdays might be pushing it.

              • So luck is on our side it seems. They just altered the WTAC Clubsprint category rules to allow an aftermarket wing to be fitted at a max height of 150mm from the roofline

OEM rear wings or aftermarket rear wings with up to two separate elements may be used in an unmodified form. The width of the wing must not exceed the widest part of the body. Only one aftermarket wing per vehicle is permitted.
Rear wing must be fitted as such to be over the body or boot in plan view, except in case of a hatchback, the rear wing assembly is only required to begin over the body. No portion of the wing can be higher than the horizontal line from the highest point of the roof except in the case of a hatchback where the wing can be no higher than 150mm from the highest point of the wing to the roofline and must be on the rear portion of the roof.

                • Nice!
I expect to see the wing at full height pushing the rear end into the tarmac!

Are you going to tension it to the boot hatch itself (check out the civic form battle EVO ME at Tsukuba)

                  • Great link!! That Civic can move. One minute around Tsukuba is mental for a FWD. No lucky there is plenty of metal on the Polo to hold the wing on. Hopefully...

                        • So at it again today with trusty old G.W. thanks a million mate

Got a bit further with the strut top mounts but sadly not 100% there yet. The issue shouldn't effect those with OEM shape springs I'm guessing so those with KW's should be ok. We managed to get them in this time thanks to Kevin knocking up the right ID spring seats for the FK's. Here is a little assembly guide as requested

Spring seat goes onto the spring

Then the alloy top hat looking piece

Then the top mount itself and the washer and finally the nut and the triangular washers if you don't have a strut brace

Then it should look something like this from the top

So the only issue I have is a loud creaking noise coming from the drivers side. Reason being the the FK springs run perpendicular (not bowed like the OEM springs) so the part of the spring seat that goes down into the spring is rubbing on the second coil. Kevin is knocking up some more seats for this which won't go as deep into the spring which should stop this. I believe all the group but mounts will now have this.

The only other thing we did is trim the bumpstops a little because the ride height is actually reduced slightly which is great for those looking for more lows

So just need the new seats and a good alignment and all done! We tested out the max negative camber setting for the drive home and it was a little too much without an alignment with some tramlining over 80kph but holy crap on that setting you can almost fit your fist between the top of the tyre and the guard Sorry don't have a photo of the extreme setting but here's one before it settled

                          photo from rear to front

                          Some ghetto aligning

Then to finish off the Devil is now a few kg's lighter and is unofficially a 2 seater with more to come out in the future

^ that looks great. How much extra power do you expect to be able to squeeze out of the modded turbo now? What size are the wheels compared to those on a K04?

                              • Not really sure sorry mate, being a prototype we won't really know until it's on and boosting And the wheel sizes are a secret at this stage and could possible change in the future although as you can see there is a decent increase.
