Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

What would be the one thing you would change about the Polo?

one thing only? for the diesel:

either H&R cup kit or Bilstein B12 kit from the factory.

      multiple (realistically):

-rear sway bar and polo gti suspension rated as from 980kg front axle weight
-electronic oil temp gauge in gauge cluster
      -polo gti seats
      -steering wheel boss kit

possibly a lip kit from factory...

make it stand out more from the base model.

ive never owned an automatic and funny enough my first time to drive an auto was years after i started driving and i didn't drive them for too long either. prolly a few hours in total and was never impressed but something tells me that once i drive a DSG i might be converted.

As great as the DSG is in the Eos, it's certainly not something I'd want in my GTI. Smooth and quick shifting, no doubt. Not to mention great in peak traffic, but certainly not as fun.

Wider track with suspension akin Mk5 Golf plus 1.5 way LSD. This with existing weight of 1.1 tonne come give the MCS, Evo and Scubby something to think about...

IMHO, AWD is overrated when it comes to dry track and it's heavy, I might be wrong though

I think the GTI needs a light in the glovebox - you can reach down there & wave hello to the locals in China with how deep the thing is!

They could do with a light in the boot too, unless it was just the one I was driving that had it missing.

                              I think it was man...

The 08/09 models have a light on one side of the boot. It could do with a second light on the opposite side though.

                                Also,

The rear foglight needs to go & replaced with a second reverse light.......the way it is on the Polo is messed up - I want it as obvious as possible that i'm reversing & only having one reverse light doesn't fill me with much confidence that everyone back there knows what i'm doing...
