Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

What would be the one thing you would change about the Polo?

I think its pretty well equipped for the $$$ you pay.

The over-the-top electronic features i could do without (cruise control, a million engine sensors, headlight adjustment).

It'd be nice to have some more cost effective tuning options, but I bought it as a 150kw hatch.

More bodykit options would be nice, don't feel I could get a unique looking POG, but i like the way it looks, so not complaining (much).

Can't complain, for the $$$, there is nothing like it.

LSD and better brakes?? Its a lightweight moderately powered hot hatch. Its never going to be the ultimate track weapon.

          that is all.

Yes. Fix the handling. Dissapointing for a hot hatch.

          Brakes should be beter.

LSD would be a lovely bonus.

Couldnt care less about ride height or tail lights.

                    +1

Quick question - if the polo gti shares alot of parts and set up and size with the MK 4 golf gti, how is there any chance of making the polo gti AWD with the floor plan from a golf MK 4 R32???

i dont doubt that yours handles very well.

however having driven the xr4 a lot its a pretty well set up balanced machine. IMO

It would be a pain enough to convert a Mk IV GTI to AWD, and that's the same body size/shape....Wouldn't think it would be possible in a Polo unless you had bottomless pockets!!

This reminds me, I wonder what happened with our resident S2000 racer??? No updates to that thread in months.

Slap a Jazz Blue Mk4 Golf shell on top and then it's perfect.
