    call me a spedstic,

but how is the Short Ram intake configured? Looking at the picture, I am lost.

where are they getting the ram air from? because from the intake box to the front of the car, the OEM is at a straightline (almost) how do they shorten it?

So the one on the left is our stock TIP ?? **** it is narrow in comparison.

Also, is it just distortion in the pic or does the metal section of the stock TIP actually taper where it joins the black rubber ? I wouldn't have thought it would, but the pic makes it look that way.

Yes the one on the left is stock.

And yes the stock TIP does taper at that point.

This picture can probably show the differance between the stock and Forge TIP's a bit better. This is from when I did my own install on my car.......

I had a quick look on the website and if you go through the checkout you can calculate shipping. Total price (inc shipping to Sydney) worked out to be AUD $94.00 so if that is the case I'd be willing to give it a go (will take a few weeks until I've got cash again though. Bloody xmas!).

It may not end up being as good as the Forge TIP but for more than half the price I think it's worth a go and it has to be better than the factory one.
            Cheers,

            John

              AUD$5 shipping to Australia.....that can't be right!

once i get a reply i'm going to e-mail them and ask them for another photo of the whole product or maybe just a description/list of what is included.

to me, it looks as though there is a metal curved pipe at the top, which connects to a piece of silicon hose, which would then connect to another pipe to the turbo (cannot see but maybe another metal pipe??). maybe too many connection but we'll see.

I thought it was a bit low also. Let us know what they say cause when you calculate shipping on the item is says 105 rand to Sydney.

Give it a go and see what figure it gives you (could be some ammunition to get it a little cheaper when they contact you back).
                Cheers,

                  105 Rand is AUD$15-$16

Please bear in mind that if your postage is actually postage and not courier it will likely take 8-16weeks to arrive. SA Post do not use airmail for parcels to Australia and all posted parcels therefore is shipped by ... ship .... No direct ships from SA to Oz, so it has to go via Singapore ... and takes 8-16weeks to arrive ... I've been through this already.

The alternative for a delivery is via courier and then $100+ is much more likely depending on weight and contents.

I thought it seemed a little cheap. I redid the calc on that link you posted and this is the outcome (still pretty bloody good)

Live rates at 2009.01.18 23:50:04 UTC
                        705.00 ZAR = 104.585 AUD
                        South Africa Rand Australia Dollars
                        1 ZAR = 0.148347 AUD 1 AUD = 6.74096 ZAR

Hopefully this is pretty close to the figure they give you.
                        Cheers,

8-16 weeks ! I work in imports and I've never had anything take 16 weeks to arrive from anywhere (as long as they had stock). I get things shipped from Japan via HK and it only takes 3 weeks. 8 weeks I could kind of understand as they need to get it on a boat to Singapore then to Aus. If it ends up being a 50% saving then I'm willing to wait a little while to get it.
                          Cheers,
