I've not seen any info that would make me think an early 9N3 had a different turbo to the newer ones.
Not to say the parts are identical, there may have been different batches, minor revisions, etc.
Given the parts are BW and there does not seem to be any dovecote from them using the 'S', fair to say its likely just the newer model terminology.Comment
