Does wet weather frustrate you?

Drove to work in the wet yesterday ...... 2 things to take note of ....

1. Cool moist air makes more power .....

2. Wet roads results in wheelspin at all but the lightest throttle ....

Does it not seem to be the most frustrating thing that when you get free extra power ... you can't use it .....

Now, how can I fit AWD to my car .....

haha very good point... well just get the wheels spinning and see how many gears you can drive with the wheels spinning for

What tyres you got johan?

Apart from 1st, I rarely spin the wheels in any other gear even in the wet unless there are bumps or something uneven on the road.

Still got the stock Conti's ...... my car has only done 21000km ....

I can wheelspin at will in the wet up to 3rd gear (and even in 4th upon upshifting from 3rd at full throttle)

From a standing start (in the wet) wheelspin does not stop untill midway through 4th ....

New tyres and wheels on the way may fix that soon .....

OK, found them ... Toyo Proxes R1-Rs

Available in Australia in 215-45-17 AND 205-45-16's amongst other sizes .....

I need 215-40-17s ....

I suggest you buy the current Motor magazine. It has a tyre test. The semi-slick performance tyres dont give any advantage in wet conditions.

Wet weather grip king is the Goodyear F1.

Yep, seen it, the Goodyear may do the job in the wet but it looks cr@p .....

I remember about 2 years ago the Goodyear F1 D3GS (or something like that) totally cleaned up the tyre tests, wet and dry, and it looks awesome ... was planning on that for my new RS6 lookalikes on the way ....

I can vouch for the F1 GSD3s they are great tyres - even better are the F1 Asymmetrics - though not sure if you can get them in the size yr chasing
