Not too many K04 Polo's around. I have driven the APR Polo when it had the K04 on. It was awesome. Heaps of smooth power. I think the 151kw atw from the video clip is a bit on the low side as it felt much stronger.
There did seem to be a problem with the turbo/manifold bolts though. Not sure if it ever got resolved.
I still plan on fitting a K04 to my car at some point. 6-15 months away.

If your going a K04 you may as well go all out and move to a T25 or T28 IMHO... You have to get new manifold / dump pipe / exhaust anyway, plus you have a much larger choice of turbo combinations to suit the way you want to power delivered...
Either of the above options will cost $5,000 +

If you already have the exhaust, you don't need anything else but the K04 as it simply bolts on and all fittings and feeds work perfectly. So fitting it will only cost you about $2K including 4bar FPR and software.
If you go anything else there are manifolds, exhaust mods, oil feed mods, software, etc to be done and $5K is probably optimistic.
Difference is K04 is worth 150+kw atw whereas a bigger yet turbo kit will be 200+kw atw......
Considering the traction problems of the Polos do you really want 200+kw atw? ...... Realistic answer is no ..... power hungry answer is yes ....
K04 is as far as my Polo will go. I'll buy a better car if I need more power than that.

The KO4 kit is usually the KO4 001 (older, smaller KO4 version) which is why it bolts on relatively easy. You'd need to upgrade the intake, install a FMIC, definately brakes ...and if you don't upgrade the clutch, you can count the days before your stock one collapses. The KO4 will flow better and hold power better in higher rpms, but don't expect a massive power increase over the KO3S. ..although you can expect more lag.
What's that little white car in your sig Johan? How did the Mk1 go getting power down? Did you have an LSD?
Going off topic here ... again .... but remotely related to power atw ...
LSD ... yes .... felt like it was on LSD as well ....
Custom built gearbox with straight cut gears ..... special clutch .... custom built driveshafts (still broke 1) .....
It had BIG issues getting all the power to the road even with custom built suspension to prevent lift at the front and squatting at the back....
Getting it off the line was a challenging task requiring restraint and patience. Once rolling its 40-200km/h was absolutely stunning though. With better traction off the line I believe it could have been a 10s car.
Worst of it all, it wasn't even the fastest Mk1 around .....
Back to topic .... I believe 200kw atw for a Polo is too much ..... as I said if I want that much power I'd buy a car that would handle it better.

As far as I can remember, we have only done 6 K04 Polo's (That we supplied the turbocharger to).
3 in Brisbane
1 in Perth
1 in Sydney
1 in Melbourne
That did not include my old K04 off our Polo - That ended up on a MKIV up here!
You will find K04 owners are very quiet - they like to remain very anonymous - There are at least a couple of owners on this forum who don't post about their K04's
