Ok steve, next time you want to add to any discussion on any forum, DO NOT consult Google or any other reference material source, cos as we all know, the computer, and EVERYTHING on it and the World Wide Web is just plain wrong... just make up any figure!! It is bound to be shouted down by someone Jeez, my sarcasm meters needle is twitching.

Seriously, the figures you stated were very close, so don't worry about it...You can't satisfy everyone...

You know what, Andrew? I don't think 'Sensible Discussion' and 'Chip Wars' fit in the same sentence.

THIS IS A POINTLESS DISCUSSION! The same model car released from the factory on the same day will vary in output for huge numbers or reasons:

        1. Air temp.
        2. Air Pressure.
        3. Altitude.
        4. Tire variation (brand, pressure, wear, etc.)
        5. Driver willingness to flog his/her vehicle
        6. Fuel used
        7. ad infinitum.

Even with the same chipped engine on the same dyno from one day to the next ... THERE WILL BE VARIATION! Get over yourselves.

I agree. Take it to some twisty roads or a racetrack and see who is faster. Might not be the guy with the fastest car, might be the one that can actually drive

Encouraging people to drive fast on public roads ? I dont think thats very responsible . And whats the point about having someone who can actually drive go out and take a car on a race track , most of us here enjoy our cars and dont need to go out to a racetrack to prove anything . I know I cant drive , and if you expect me to go to Wakefield and drive my car to the limits for 5-10 laps Im sorry , but it aint gonna happen !

This thread is mainly about Unitronic , as Ive stated previously that Unitronic was formed mainly because of a lack of real big turbo tuners out there making serious kits bigger than a gt28 . Here is a recent thread of Revo vs Unitronic :

thats peoples own feedback of the difference and thats where I think a lot of you guys are failing to see the whole point in the chip wars debate . Its not just about peak power , its about the whole overall package of a chip .
The idle quality , the responsiveness under light and heavy acceleration , the ability to cruise with full weight as well as accelerate with full weight up a hill on a hot day without pinging , the a/f ratio both when cold and hot , the ability for the program to adapt to new modifications without having a retune , peak torque etc etc . Putting a car on the dyno will show you peak power and a/f ratio , but its not really going to tell you how the car actually drives , and unless you race the car its also not worth testing them on a track . The best test is to drive the car and see the differences between stock vs chipped . If your lucky enough to get a trial with one company and get another companies chip then you can compare , and just remember the butt dyno feels torque more than power

That's probably the most critical consideration. ..although the factors that determine what makes a great 'overall package' remains highly subjective and difficult to both verify and substantiate. If there were controlled, objective, independent tests of all tunes, then we could make more informed choices about suitable overall packages. Car manufacturers subject their cars to these tests/reviews and we read about about them - and many make their purchase decisions based on them. Until such time as chip tunes are put through the same level of product scrutiny, dyno days and inflated peak power claims from 'some' tuners will continue to tell us very little.
