Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 6R Polo Amplifier cable through firewall.

    Hi everyone,

Just wondering, how is everyone getting their positive cable from the battery to inside the cabin? I'm having very little luck finding a suitable grommet or hole.

I've searched everywhere but there's very little for the 6R Polo, and info is sketchy at best.

    Pictures would be awesome!

On top of the chassis rail, where it meets the firewall on the passenger's side.

I swear I saw this exact reply somewhere, was it you? haha

I'll have a look again, but I couldn't remember seeing anything.

        Probably.

Pretty sure I've mentioned it a few times.

          I did a guide for this once upon a time - http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...l?#post1174124

I used a grommit on the passenger side under the left hand plastic panel which lead up to the wheel arch. There is a gap behind the battery which goes to the wheel arch.

            Cheers mate,

That's another option as well. Probably one I may go with. Will be installing SPR 60C speakers and an amp in the back, I'd like to fit a slim line sub in the false floor, or maybe even take out the spare wheel and install a full size sub.
