Quick question regarding placement of resonator after muffler delete

Removed my muffler from my polo 6c however i moved the res from the stock position to where the muffler originally was. however im wondering whether if i were to push the res further back to its stock position will it change the exhaust not when changing gears etc..

I put mine in the shed... its still there and the car is now gone... if anyone wants it, let me know
