Another wipers related question

I want to slightly twist the wiper arm to stop the juddering , which is only happening on the upsweep. It is also squeaking at the top end of the wipe. Both happen in rain, the more rain the worse it seems to get, especially the squeak.

I know there is a tool which looks like a protractor, but without the tool should I twist in the direction the juddering is happening or twist the other way? I know the dealership is able to adjust the wiper arm but would rather DIY at home.

I used a small shifter to twist the arm. Idea is to reduce the blade angle relationship with the glass so it sweeps rather than shovel if you know what I mean.

How old is the car - the blades have a 12 months warranty. Rather take the car in, they might replace your blades free of charge or you can get a bottle of that alcohol they put in the water bottles at the dealer - use this to clean your windshield and blades - just don't wipe all that black stuff off the blades; its not dirt its actually carbon which allows the blade to glide freely over the windshield.
Why are the arms out? If the blades were working fine before then it has to be the blades or sh*t on your windshield.

Whenever my wipers start to shudder I clean the windscreen with turps and paper towel. Careful not to get it on paint or plastic. Any solvent would do. Give it a real hard rub to remove the buildup of oil off the road. If you use turps you'll then need to clean the window with regular window cleaner. Works for me.

I checked the drivers side wiper in the service position and the blade is leaning in the direction that it judders. Shouldn't it be sitting straight on the glass?

Something else I have noticed, the wiper doesn't skip when on the fastest wiper setting, only on intermittent and normal speed.
