i know the car is still relatively new to the market, other than small squeaks and rattles. are there any issues with the current 6c gti?
e.g. oil consumption issues.

We timed 0-100km/h just 6.2 seconds, which is 0.1 of a second quicker than what we achieved in the previous DSG version. You could expect an even quicker time in the DSG here.

So the 1.8 Manual (6.2) is 0.1 quicker than the 1.4 DSG (6.3), interesting.

Flat-out acceleration is quite similar between the two model years. We timed 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds in the new DSG.

The manual Polo GTI bursts out of that mould by proving it can let its hair down and get a bit wild. It is also quicker covering 0-100km/h (6.2 seconds) according to our stopwatch, mainly because it can hit 100km/h in second gear.

Ah, that explains it, maybe they should do a comparison to 101 kph or wherever the manual needs to change to 3rd. That's a much fairer comparison.

If the new Polo is anything like my 2011 Golf R manual, 2nd gear would only take you to around 96kph...the delay to change into 3rd to hit 100kph hurt the 0-100kph times.

Timing wise for those tracking their car.... It was exactly 1 week from the ship getting into port (Wollongong NSW) until arrival at my dealer in Canberra. Not a bad effort by Prixcar to turn it around so quickly.

So what fuel usage are people seeing out there on their GTI?

Mine has done 3,000 kms now and getting consistent 6.9 L/100 each week

EDIT: Avg speed is 57kph

7000km in I get under 8, but then I've always got 3 people in the car which may make some difference

Picked mine up yesterday and yes it was bucketing down rain, so by the time we got it home it needed its first wash

Very nice Sunny!!! Ride height is perfect. Some say, they sit too high. 6 days to go for me! Can't wait. Going to put 500kms on mine immediately as I drive back from Canberra to Newcastle. Got a new job/house in the same time it takes to 'breed' a MY16 GTI

Interesting to note, the MY16's are fitted with Bridgestone Potenza S001's.

If they are as good as the old RE-001's, I'm very happy!
