Picked up a MY16 GTI manual for my fiancé last week! Had a fault with the adaptive dampers but they replaced the crook component pretty quick.
A lot nicer to drive than her old Ralliart Colt.
Wondering what to do to it now...Comment

I just got a centre muffler delete around $80 - $100 gives it a heaps better note and you can here it better for shift points in the manual

Hi,
I just purchased a MY 15 Polo GTI built after July 2015 from my local dealer.
It has a Composition Media Gen 2 (Device part number: 3Q0035819) I've been trying to turn on the MirrorLink function,
however it says to contact the dealer for the activation key, which I will tomorrow.
Could someone tell me what the current/latest hardware and software version should be installed.
(Mine is Hardware: H11, Software: 0138

I then contacted VW Australia - not available in Australia. Not an accessory they have listed & therefore wouldn't comment further.
There is after market company on the Gold Coast (I think) who will supply the pin code & do the coding required. jku.com.au is the company website but the page is no longer available.
Mirrorlink is only useful if you have certain smart phones & doesn't include CarPlay for use with Apple products. Not sure if activation would also release CarPlay?

When I bought the MY16, I original I went in on a MY15 demo, and the service manager told me he cannot in anyway enables those features (mirror link car play etc).
The contact your dealer thing is just a generic message they use as I'm sure in other countries the licensing is different.
Hence why I bought a MY16, for that, RVC and sport dampers.Comment

What are peoples thoughts on Carplay Maps negating the need for the GPS which is part of the DAP? There is nothing else in the pack that I need, and would probably not get it if Carplay Maps works well enough........Just wish I could get LEDs and a Sunroof without the seats.Comment
