Checked Fuel Flap. Suggested pressure for 17" tyres are 270 (39) Front and 240 (35) Rear for two up. I suppose 38 all round might be a good balance.MY19 Polo GTi 2.0 DSG

Late model MY15.5 and MY16 come with Bridgestone. Just as good as Conti IMOOriginally posted by maxrob200 View PostMy GTI has Bridgestone Potenza S001 tyres compared to Continental Contisport on some of the other MY15 cars. I wonder if they changed them for MY16. What is the recommended tyre pressure in psi for S001?

Seems a lot for the tyre size & weight of the vehicle but I guess they are trying to get a "sporty" feel and maybe more direct turn-in.Originally posted by maxrob200 View PostChecked Fuel Flap. The lower pressure in the rear would be to give a slightly plusher ride.
You could do worse than start with the recommendation and experiment around a bit.carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic

Checked tyre pressure with a gauge this morning. Pretty spot-on with VW recommendations (39 Front and 35 Rear). Will experiment a bit to find a happy balance for my own preferences. Just needed a starting point to avoid under inflation of tyres.MY19 Polo GTi 2.0 DSG

If you compare the tyre pressures among the various VW products, it appears they tailor the air pressure to suit the ride / handling expectations of the target market. There are some Skoda Octavias (near enough 1.5 tonne) that have recommended pressures of 29 front / 34 rear with a big diesel lump up the front.Originally posted by maxrob200 View PostChecked tyre pressure with a gauge this morning. Something as light as the Polo, you could get as low as 30psi at the rear without issuescarandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic

Just checked the pressure on mine after 3 weeks ownership. Factory/dealer set at 38psi which is exactly what I wanted. Feels like 45psi admittedly! [emoji16]

Had my first decent trip on the freeway (back to work
) today in the Gti and it was a most pleasant drive. Two things which are a PITA. Start/Stop and the centre console arm rest. Give both the flip. will be seeing my mechanic very soon for VCDS disable for Start/Stop. Very firm going over speed humps at work compared to the nice plop of the Jetta and that's not in Sports suspension mode. Astoundingly, from a brand new engine, I was averaging 6.4l/100km.

Update. It's been a very hot day in Melb. Well I mean for a while. But my GTI decided to not have the aircon to run.
Has anyone here experienced temps above 35degrees n aircon working or not?

Yep is happened to me more then once in the TDI. Don't know why it happens but turning the car off, waiting a bit then turning it back on seems to fix it.Originally posted by tc831 View PostUpdate. Touch wood, the climate control in mine is working fine with the heat. Set to 18-19 with fan on low (1-2 steps) and it's comfortable in the cabinMY19 Polo GTi 2.0 DSG

Saw temps of 38C on the dash on Sunday..... Aircon didn't miss a beat. At one stage, was stopped still for 5mins++ on the M7 due to a crash.

Does anyone know if Traffic Alert Notifications is enabled in MY16 with Discover Media Sat NAV or is there a setting in VCDS to check as well? I have ticked the check box in settings for TP alerts and the Radio Text check box is also ticked. When I press the traffic button, a message says there are no alerts. Does it mean that traffic is fine within my current location? Or is there a particular FM station that broadcasts alerts?MY19 Polo GTi 2.0 DSG
