Braking Issue?

Hi Guys,

So after a bit of driving in my polo I have found one little thing that may be an issue. It has happened twice now when braking at low speed (less than 10kph).

When I brake there is this noise, it is hard to explain but it is like when you peg a playing card to a bmx bike wheel and it clicks fast. As I said this has only occurred twice and at extremely low speeds over a speed bump.

Any of you geniuses know what is going on?

Haven't driven over any gravel roads lately? Have seen where gravel (little rocks) get lodged between the brake disc and backing plate.

Worth a check.

I have actually! Went to the snow and the road to Guthega is all unsealed. I will check in the morning. Thank you!!

Just one more question, could it be causing any damage to the brakes itself?

Could be and couldn't be, all depends on where it's lodged, usually it's okay but obviously if that's the problem you assess the disc for scoring marks etc.

Sounds more likely to be the standard 3rd gear selector-fork rattle to me.
