phoned back to say thanks but no thanks.
Getting it serviced locally via a family friend.
picking it up today, have not heard a price but it will be alot cheaper than $1240 i can tell you that.
HOLY CRAP batman.... before I read your signature i thought that may have been a DSG service in there for good measure, but thats just crazy. I like my local dealer (Berwick VW) but i wont be taking it back there for my 60k service at those prices (even the 800 is silly). Local VW specialist (Purely Prestige in Narre Warren) will do it for less than half that and probably do a better and more thorough job.
My Car(s): 2011 6R TSI Comfortline (Pepper Silver),
If you're in need of any 6n1 parts, odds are that I am going to have them (dismantling 2 at the moment)

Got my friends dad to do the service for me. Just so happens he owns a race car team. Lucky me he did everything that was needed. Replaced the spark plugs special iriduim aparently.

      $506.34 I was stoked.

Considering the same service at vw was going to be $1240.

Still have the original tyres also on my car from brand new. Think I can squeeze another 5k or 10k out of them. My new tyres I will be going to get like 80k to 100k guareenteed.

Make sure you ask to have your tyres rotated each service also. If I had have been more persistent with mine I would be getting 100k out of this set easily. I was told at both the 15 k and 30 k service that " oh your tyres are fine and don't need to be rotated". Slap my palm to my forehead how stupid of me to not look after my tyres better.

I have continentals on by the way.

The only problem with doing the servicing yourself is that the service book doesn't get stamped and that's bad when warrantee work comes up.

Personally I do as much as I can to my own car (spark plugs, leads, air/pollen filters, brakes) but I always get them to do the engine oil just to stamp the book. If it wasn't for that I would do everything myself.

Really when you take it to the dealer you just paying for some incompetent prick to stuff up your car.

May I ask which one? Mine is due shortly and as usual VW Sutherland is trying to rip me off with their quoted price.

Yep 870-900 (and from what I have heard - up to $1250!!!) for the 60k service is normal. Mine will only cost 260 though cos I'm doing everything myself, I'm really just getting the book stamped with an oil change, you know for warrantee purposes...

VW Barloworld. They quoted $450 when i dropped it off. I got a friend who works there, to get the price down a little. They didn't really want to though.

I need my 52,000kms service done.

Should I do it at my VW dealership or else where? And where? I'm in Perth.

If Berwick isn't too far, Berwick Prestige has serviced our Polo a couple of times and they've been very good. One of mum's friends gets her Touareg serviced there also and has had no complaints. They have over 25 years of experience, and were factory trained by Mercedes Benz according to their website. They're much cheaper than VW (obviously).

                            Here's their website: http://www.berwickprestige.com.au

Volkspower in Burwood are also very good!

If I didn't know how to service the car myself I would be taking it over there. Might take a while to get a booking though. Every time I go there the place is packed...

If Narre was okay, purely prestige opposite fountain gate is great, they have loan cars (polos of all things ) and are factory Vw, Bmw and Renault trained.
