  • Polo 6R Servicing Costs

My 2012 Polo GTI is in for a service at the moment. 44,000kms. Have had the car since Jan 3 2012.

My first service was 16,000km and my second service was 32,000kms.

I recall the 32,000km service was about $300~

My bill for today's 44,000km service will be $620.... Is this right? Last service they just did checked and some liquid replacements... But to possibly do the same thing for $620?? I'll post what they did soon.

(Foot note: inside VW window sticker said to do service at 41,000kms. In dash computer screen noted over wkend next service due at 44,000kms or 251days or so - question is which do you go by?)

What are your servicing costs for the Polo? Be TSI or GTI. Today mine is $620... But why?

What does the invoice state? Give us a break down of the costs.

45 000 km / 36 month service should be the same as the 15 000 km / 12 month service, but include an air filter and/or brake fluid & associated labour costs, depending on what's needed.

EDIT: in your situation, the only difference between a 45k/36m service and a 15k/12m service should be the cost and fitting of the air filter.

Brake fluid is every 30,000 or 2 years, might be air filter but I think that's a 60,000km item along with the plugs and brake fluid. That figure sounds like a 60,000km service rather than 45,000.

Air filter (at least for the TDI) is every 45,000 km

Air filter is replaced every 45 000 km with no time interval.

Brake fluid is drained and refilled every 24 months with no distance interval.

Spark plugs are replaced every 60 000 km or 48 months.

Both the European workshop manual and the Australian dealer worksheet form (2012 version) do not state a distance interval.

EDIT: but happy to be corrected otherwise.

                      Polo 6R Servicing Costs

I'll post up what the VW Service guys did to my car. No gearbox recall on my car BUT my clutch is going to be replaced under warranty as it is slipping (hence the gearbox shudders in 1-2-3 gears)

Also, can anyone recommend a European service centre for my next service in Perth that have had their 6R Polos worked on? I don't want to pay $600+ again.... But would they pick up any issues like a clutch replacement even if I mentioned the gears shuddering?

Was quoted $1240 for my 60,000km service at South Yarra.
Wiper Blades are $120 to be replaced at the customers request.
phoned back to say thanks but no thanks.
Getting it serviced locally via a family friend.
picking it up today, have not heard a price but it will be alot cheaper than $1240 i can tell you that.

That's not a bad price... assuming a complementary bottle of Penfolds Grange is included.

I got quoted $450 from my local dealer for 12 month service.

Compared to my Honda $270 every 6 months. Its not too bad. But still very expensive for an oil change.
