Yeah, you can get some amazing mags and options for the A1 Sport, but the price is heart stopping! 40-50K!
Perhaps consider making the jump to the A3 Quattro?
I'm thinking of buying a second hand one from a dealership...I've learnt from several cars already that buying brand new is just stupid as you lose around 8-10% when driving out of the showroom.
Edit: Didn't go through as they wanted $2,500 for a 12 month extension to the factory warranty...errrr no.

Would've been good value if you did launch control every day
Clio is in dealers sometime this week, its just the normal one but its worth a drive to see the ergonomics and interior quality. Check the glovebox too, the french never seem to move the fuse box over for the RHD conversion so it'll probably be rubbish.
Insurance paid out for my car almost a month ago and I've been looking at so many new cars but at this rate I'm very close to ordering another Polo GTI...
I agree about the Fiesta ST - supposed to be a good little car but i don't know if i could own a Ford. The 208 GTI is pretty much the same size/class as the Polo - good looking car. Only available with manual gearbox though - which would suit me fine but i know how much you guys love your DSG's.
Otherwise the normal A1 with the 1.4T (90kw) engine is a nice car. Lovely little engine. I drove a manual version for a day about 18 months ago and really liked it - plenty of poke too. Throw some rims on it, lower it a bit and personalise it like you have done with your Polo and it would look great.
The 208 GTi is a fair bit smaller than the Polo GTi no?
The Fiesta...haha...its a Ford.
Cheers for the advice Lucas
There's Ford and then there's Ford Europe, both STs are built in Germany (Polo can't claim that).
Problem is the facelift of the fiesta was very lazy, and that tiny dash screen and 5 million pointless buttons makes me nauseous.
I hope the polo gets facelifted, just give it the mk7 xenons and it'll help me feel like its an upgrade
Fiesta ST. Great car (performance wise)....had a drive of one and its pretty good. My only little quirk is that horrid interior design. Like readerror said, the countless amount of buttons on the dash is just dumb (and distracting) along with the little screen that comes with it.
From what I gathered in my 20-30 minute test drive is the Ford's suspension is stiffer and it goes pretty similarly to the Polo (stock of course). The noise that comes into the cabin is pretty nice though coming from a 4 cylinder. I think its real engine noise as well unlike the artificial stuff that gets pumped through a speaker mounted in the dash . I found the seats are also more supportive than the Polo's. There was nothing special about the interior when compared to a Polo as VW have their stuff sorted out in that area. Of course, it has a manual gearbox which is always welcome.
Price....drive away from my local dealer was $29,xxx. There are also NO options available as everything comes standard...!
My current car is my Polo GTI 2013, but I've ordered the Polo R WRC. I'll have it delivered in the end of october/beginning of november. It's really good priced here in Sweden, the price is only $165 above the Polo GTI.
Yeah its an amazing car, not available in RHD though
What a shame about no RHD. Who on earth would buy a normal GTi when you could have a special edition WRC model with manual box and 2.0T engine for only $165 more.

I had a look whilst in the office...and I shall deliver:

Yup, good way to freshen up the Polo, but IAA Frankfurt is on right now and there hasn't been any info so I doubt it will be facelifted before the new Polo.

If that's the case expect the new Polo to be shown at least the same time next year with a Euro sale Feb 2015 / Australia Sept 2015 with a GTi Available Euro September 2015...with an Aus GTi around December 2015 or early Jan 2016...
