Interesting, thats when the MQB Polo is due (and then GTI 2016). Autobild.de were suggesting they'd show off a facelift Polo at Frankfurt, only a mild headlight and taillight update really. We shall see either way!MY16 Octavia RS 162 Race Blue Combi

VW would be smart to head straight into MQB territory...2014 is the year of the new lineups.Originally posted by readerr0r View PostInteresting, thats when the MQB Polo is due (and then GTI 2016). While we wait for Renault Aus to release the Clio...you can use the UK site to build your very own Clio RS

Un-Cup-led Renault Clio RS 200 for Oz - motoring.com.au
Some light reading, prices for the normal clio should be out very soon! But the price of the Cup version of the RS sounds like it'll be high (32K?). Its a little harsh to call the Polo GTI ageing when the ST is based on the ancient FiestaLast edited by readerr0r; 03-09-2013, 08:03 PM.MY16 Octavia RS 162 Race Blue Combi

If Renault wish to compete they're going to have to hit below or on par with the Polo GTi due to VW's high exposure in Australia.Originally posted by readerr0r View PostUn-Cup-led Renault Clio RS 200 for Oz - motoring.com.au

I'd figure Renault will sell the cup at 28k...the 200 24k

You could be on the money read...$32,000 for the RS 200 EDC Cup should be on the money...anything more and Renault will drop the ball for sure...as the Fiesta ST and Polo Gti will run away laughing knowing their products are better price / more exposure in the market than Renault.Originally posted by readerr0r View PostFYI

I'm contemplating in getting an Audi A1 Sport...now I know its pretty much the same as the Polo GTi...however...from what I've read it hasn't had as many issues compared to the Polo GTi...again I have no idea why...its the same engine, clutch, suspension, drive etc...so help? Thinking of doing a deal within the next week! >.<

^ probably because there's so few of them around. For every A1 Sport i see, i probably see 10-15 Polo GTI's. Same engine and same gearbox = same problems.

Exactly. While the polo GTI is still a fairly rare beast (I see roughly 2-3 a week in 600kms of driving) the A1 sport is even rarer (1-2 every 2 months) probably due to the price premium. While a GTI is a bit of a step over the Fabia (difference is that the polo runs a newer platform and doesn't have added ballast to balance the handling etc) the A1 sport and polo GTI have quite a gulf between them in regards to price which is for basically the same car, albeit a little more style driven...Originally posted by Lucas_R View Post^ probably because there's so few of them around. Yeah, you can get some amazing mags and options for the A1 Sport, but the price is heart stopping! 40-50K!Originally posted by gavs View PostExactly. Perhaps consider making the jump to the A3 Quattro?Last edited by readerr0r; 10-09-2013, 11:27 AM.MY16 Octavia RS 162 Race Blue Combi
