  • Wheel and lowering advice :)

Hi all the way from Scotland folks, just looking for some general advice...

I'm looking to put a set of either 18x8 BBS CH or CH-R Satin black on my 2011 polo gti (flash red). Can anyone recommend a tyre size that gives that nice stretched look?? Also, be nice to see what the general opinion of these wheels on this car are.

    And....

I'm looking to lower the car just so that the lip of the arch sits nice above the tyre. Can this be done with currently available aftermarket springs?? or would i be better off stumping up for coilovers?? How far will I need to drop it on an 18inch wheel with say, a 215/35 tyre??

Any help would be greatly appreciated

H&R springs will lower the car nicely

i also suggest you go to tyre stretch website, and look at the stretch you will get with the tyre u want to run.

215/35 isnt stretched. And do you really need stretch on such a skinny wheel?

ive been in a forum members polo gti with the 35/55 springs

everyones opinion will differ on what is firm and not, but i thought they were fine

i actually think their softer than the suspension on my mates brand new golf gti !

ive bought the 25/40mm springs, getting them installed next week

it would be far from any scrub. I myself have 35 55's and decent poke, and I have to really really try to get any scrub
