I can't say I felt any power increase with the resonator or muffler removed so I think it flows quite well. You would be best to remove the cat if you wanted big gains, but that would also require a tune...

Your car lanes? Newsflash: Bikes are legally allowed on the road including riding two-abreast. Having said that a reasonable person would move over to let a car past...a little courtesy goes a long way. It is for this reason that I give a wave of appreaciation when a driver gives way at an intersection even when I may be the one with right-of-way.
As a cyclist who does about 15,000km a year (compared to < 3000km in the Polo) I would happily pay rego as it would put the whole "cyclists don't pay rego" nonsense to bed once and for all. Additionally it would cost about $5 a year based on weight at which point it it would be a loss-making exercise. Alas under the current system, the RMS won't take my money.
Re fixing potholes, well we all know that the councils would rather install speedhumps and/or roundabouts than actually fix the road.
And as for cyclists running red lights, they are complete knobs and will sooner or later end up in hospital or a hole in the ground. Cycling represents a cross-section of society so naturally you'll get a number of people who flout the law...same goes for drivers who run red lights and drive under the influence etc.

Also take the tune off as you are burning more fuel than stock and creating smoke for more than 10 seconds. Actually just buy a Prius that way you can offset the pollution they made making the batteries for it.

And what about Harley's, they are so loud you go deaf instantly, why are they not targeted?.It's not about elitists its about fairness and equality. If its all for one side and not the other then its not equality is it? I complain about cyclists because they pay no rego but get my car lanes taken out for bike lanes at my expense, while there is a ongoing pothole epidemic which should be attended to first. Things like this piss me off.Just because i could be labelled a greenie, doesn't mean that i fall under the generalisation. For example, how is it that a 1974 microbus is being driven by a greenie, in favour of a newer vehicle (aside from the fact that the bludgers don't bloody work or pay taxes!) yet it burns 20L+/100kms, belches out countless harmfull toxins, has to have valve-stem additives added to the fuel and probably drips oil everywhere. Doesn't make sense to me either! My support is aimed at efficient motors in vehicles, exploration of alternate energy supplies (bio-diesel turbines anyone?
) and sustainable development and living. It doesn't mean I have to hate cars or what they stand for and choose not to wash, have dread locks and dress in hemp.
I know that we're completely off topic now so this will be my last word on the matter. Most cyclists do pay rego when they register their cars but i agree, they currently have no accountability on the roads because they cannot be identified. Sit on mountain highway (just up from where my dsg shat itself) on a saturday morning with a radar gun and see how many of them come flying down over the speed limit. See how many also ride at 3 or 4 abreast uphill and then force faster cyclists to overtake on the wrong side of the road. See how many get fined for it. Spend some time in europe and you will see how harmoniously bikes and cars navigate the roads but what you won't see is a bike lane taking up half a lane on a road any faster than 60 kph, why? Because it's idiotic and dangerous. Cyclists also don't have to contend with the stupid, STUPID layout and design of our roads where they have to ride between flowing traffic and parked cars at the risk of being doored. I can't remember the road but i drove into the city on saturday and FINALLY someone at roads planning worked out the proper way for bike lanes, to be on the footpath side of parked cars.
I have nothing against intelligent and safe cyclists but I see too many flogs, flaunting the law and not only their own safety, but that of others on the roads (like the one being hosed out from under a landcruiser 5 weeks ago after choosing not to give-way at the mountain highway / colchester road roundabout) so in my mind, they are tarred with the same brush. Same as commodore owners.

APR said they will not be doing a tune for the TSI any more as they started with the SIMOS10.1 ECU and when vw went to the encrypted SIMOS10.2 they couldn't use the old software. Becuase the car is not available in the US it means they have to fly international to test a car and becuase of that they have put the project on hold for the foreseeable future. Go DNA trust me.

Loving the thread.
This is a question for the lads who have done this in Melbourne. Where have you had this mod done? I'm looking to get this done on the the weekend, I live in berwick so ideally someone in the South East would be ideal.
Cheers,
