Golf pop out badge RVC into Polo 6R

I'm desperate for help with vcds coding now. My local dealer wont touch it for any amount of money. They didn't fit the camera so they are not interested. They also werent interested in giving me the rcd510 security code. If anyone is within 1.5 hours of Wollongong with a hex-can cable I'll come to you and make it worth your while. I'm just about ready to buy my own cable that I'll only ever use for 5 minutes.

I had Camden Gti have a quick look this morning on my way to work. Turns out the bit to turn on the reverse camera is already ticked which I suspected it might be back in post #102. So I'm now at a loss as to why I only have a blue screen.

My VCDS screen was slightly different to the screenshot on post #54. I only have 4 or 5 bytes available, not 9. Also my bit 6 only has "Backup Camera installed", doesnt have "(without control module)".

I presume the red wire powers the hatch? Well it works at all times, ignition off/on. The yellow wire is getting power when I select reverse as the camera pops out, which also proves the earth. The bit is ticked, its plugged into the back of the RCD510. I double checked the coax, it can only go one way. What else could possibly be wrong?

Is there another section under radio that I have to tell it I have the rcd510? Didnt have any time to do searching or diagnosis this morning because I have already missed a couple of days work this week.

Sigh. One step closer. The coax wasn't plugged into the headunit properly. So now I have the guidelines but no picture... just black. Ideas?

All sorted. What a ****fight that was. Never again. Every nut and bolt air cooled resto is much easier. I think I had less trouble building complete custom turbo kombi engines.

Hi all,

Trying to code a RCD510(bosch) with reverse in, VCDS accepts the code change via Long code helper, then when i check to confirm the code has changed it hasnt. It is still on the default coding. Camera works properly and pops out etc, just cant get it to code. Using VCDS 14.10.2. Any help/ideas appreciated.

Just a note, Ive tried resetting the the unit a few times and it makes no difference.

Rip off version, Ill have to try it with a proper Ross tech version. Its funny tho, I can access every other module and change things except the radio.

hi guys! i know this is a golf post but i figure the principle is still the same lol

needing a bit help, bought a Polo a few months back, it already has the reverse camera installed but its in the bumper, i was wondering if anyone has a logical idea as to where i would connect the cables, all i have are 2 cables in my boot connected to the camera and when i put the car in reverse the black screen comes up with the lines so i know the camera is connected to the reverse light...but i have no clue where to connect the camera to the cable that i beleive should be running from my radio/cdplayer/gps unit. I'd rather not rip apart my car so i figure id ask here first

Hi folks. Having successfully installed this emblem camera in my old Polo 6R, my next project is to install it in my newer Polo 6C. I've bought the necessary kit from carsystems.pl and after a bit of searching managed to find the correct wiring instructions to hook this up to the composition media control box located in the glove box. I also found the correct coding for the composition media unit, which is different to the coding for the RNS510. Basically, I followed steps 6 onwards from the following guide:

Unfortunately I'm not getting any image on the display. The camera pops out correctly when I select reverse with the tailgate down, and the display switches to camera view with the PDC picture on the LHS, but for some reason the camera image remains stubbornly blank. I've double checked the wiring, and I've even done a continuity check on the composite signal wiring which bells out fine.

Does anyone have experience of installing the emblem RVC in the Polo 6C (or any other composition media system) who might be able to help me track down what's going wrong?

Yep. had the same issue, turned out I just needed to plug the camera in properly and lock the connector correctly.
