Golf pop out badge RVC into Polo 6R

However, when I go to RVC view, there is a 'slide-in' at the LHS, which is empty. Looking at some photos of the RNS510 online I can see there is meant to be a picture of the car with the OPS indication in this 'slide-in'. Any idea how (or if) I can get this on my system. I've been through a few VAGCOM options, but couldn't see anything relevant.

MODULE 37 - Navigation: To enable and show RVC on display @ Byte 3, Bit 6 ticked.

MODULE 10 - Park/Steer Assist: To also show OPS (on LHS) together with RVC. Tick this extra box @ Byte 0, Bit 5

Perfect! That's exactly what I needed. Would have never found the MODULE 10 piece by just browsing through VCDS. Another benefit is that the screen now automatically switches to the RVC view when I select reverse. Before it would switch to OPS view, and I would have to press a button on screen to get it into RVC view.

Around 19 months after my last post and im still enjoying the benefits of the RVC. I really wouldnt want to be without it. So far its saved me a couple of times in carparks and at home on my diffcult driveway. I cant imagine not having an RVC now in any car I owned.

There has been a lot of press about kids whove been run over by their parents at home and I see the future for all of us is extra vision like this... or to tell your kids to get out the way of cars, but the modern way isnt to tell kids anything it seems... so RVCs it is!

Does anybody know if the situation has changed since the introduction of the RVC on the new 6C Polos?
Is it easier to purchase a camera made for the 6C and install into the 6R, or is it still better to grab a Golf unit and a bracket?

I got impatient waiting for the camera to come and fitted the RCD510 already. (yep, I'll have to pull it again when the camera arrives - and that's OK cos I left a CD in the RCD310 doh).

When I select reverse the display shows blue where the camera image would show, and the warning/disclaimer message to always check behind.

It seems to already think the RVC is there. So does this mean I wont need any VCDS coding? Why would this be the case since it was originally fitted with a 310 which is incapable of using the camera?

You wont need to code very likely.

Hmmm. My harness is different. Only the red wire is long enough to go front to rear. The black is just long enough to go from vamera to the earth point near the light and the yellow wire is only a metre long. No chance of getting back to the light.

Update: all fitted up. Ended up having to lengthen the red wire as well as it didnt quite reach. Head unit works, hatch release works, but camera isnt popping out so still just blue screen. I guess i need the vcds after all. It seems to have power at the camera but its late,dark and I'm starving so maybe im checking wrong connection.

Update2: camera pops out now I connected it correctly. I too had the latch/camera plugs switched.

My tip: dont start this job after work if you need the car the following day

I'm desperate for help with vcds coding now. My local dealer wont touch it for any amount of money. They didn't fit the camera so they are not interested. They also werent interested in giving me the rcd510 security code. If anyone is within 1.5 hours of Wollongong with a hex-can cable I'll come to you and make it worth your while. I'm just about ready to buy my own cable that I'll only ever use for 5 minutes.
