'Made up' new wheel caps today -

Looks ace dude. After a lot of mucking about trying to get decent RS reps overseas in the correct offset it seems that I might be going these now myself as second option. Just looks the parts and fits well, well done. If this +35 all around? I am considering a staggered +25 offset on the rear, +35 on the front. Rekon I have an additional 10mm to play with on the rear if I go for staggered?

Thanks mate. Offset is actually 38. They are not XXR527s, rather Hustler XR 17 x 8.25, identical apart from the extra offset which Wheelworx told me is achieved by shaving the hub surface of the wheel.

Went for these wheels after considering much more expensive options, like you could not find anything with a good 'dish' look in required offsets. Had them on nearly 2 months and no problems at all. Fronts are ideal offset if you don't want rubbing, backs you could certainly go to 35 or use 10mm spacers maybe? 35mm offset at front and you will definitely get rubbing.

Yeah that's exactly right. I think I am gonna risk +25 back, looking for a fairly aggressive stance. Will put some pics up with the coils shortly

Yep chrome black, bit dark for my liking and may get them refinished when I wear out the tyres.

Did a before and after weighing with same tyre and they are 1.5kg min. ea. lighter than VW wheel which is a very useful saving in unsprung weight.

What width are yours again? Also is yours 6C?

My 17x8 without tyre came in at just 8.5KG (18.74 lbs) each which from memory was about a good 4KG off each corner as I'm pretty sure I weighed the OEM 6R detroit's at 12.5KG without tyre.

Maybe 6C Rims are lighter so the difference is less...

My car is 6C. Just over 2kg off each corner is probably correct when I measured on our digital bathroom scales. I also got around 1.6 kg per corner on a digital suitcase scale but that reading is likely wrong, it varies if the thing being weighed is not held very steady. Wrote the figures down but can't find them.

New wheels are 8.25" and the detroits are a heavier looking wheel than the 6Cs.

I just weighed a 6C wheel and I make it 10.3kg which further confirms all the above.
