had mine in today for clutch thingie...
got a call late afternoon, asking for names of some of the streets in my vicinity....weird...
said that VW head office was hoping the local dealer could replicate the slipping etc...no such luck
so no paperwork today, only a verbal that they had lodged the DIST (?) report with VW and will come back to me.
I thought I might keep a diary of where and when car does these things, from now on...and, if no action on their part, I will present this as evidence...

    cheers

Honestly couldn't stand the guys at Parra Denlo, 1 guy in particular was a real As#$^le. Wouldn't let me test drive anything and I came in one day on a hot summers evening looking around and got no service at all. Next time came back mid week dressed in business attire and the same guy comes up and the first thing he says was "Oh you again, this time you've dressed a lot better" I was like WTF...!!!!

You need to go with the tech. If they won't let you, go elsewhere.

update: Finally got a call to come back in, took tech for a drive. He knew all about it and, as luck would have it, right at the end of our drive, the clutch shuddered...Even though he had already said that all the symptons were right and he would recommend replacement.
They were waiting for equipment, apparently there are quite a few on order for dealers across the country.

But i got a call the other day, and car has been booked in for next week, will get a loaner for a couple of days.

              thanks for your help, gavs!

                  So get this!

Had my 15,000km service yesterday and mentioned the 'shuddering' of the DSG when in 1st. When I picked up the car it was written on the service receipt that the car was road tested and found the shudder to be the standard characteristic for this specification of vehicle.

When I queried it, he said it was road tested and the computer / diagnostics didn't pick up on anything so they couldn't touch it. He then said in the next breath, that he knows it's a common clutch problem (WTF) and even though it's clearly an issue, we could go for a drive (and feel the problem) and he could still do nothing as the diagnostics said 'no' (via VAG).

So the conversation went from 'this is expected behaviour' to 'we know it's an issue but VAG won't do anything'.

There will be a phone call now to VAG to have a whinge. He hinted that there would be a bulletin / campaign coming soon for it as I was told to get it checked before my next service (by someone else) and then he said, I believe you'll be coming back in before that.

There's that all too common response from dealer service departments.

Seeing as you have this in writing, maybe you should report it to the ACCC.

Told you before to go elsewhere Pete, I'd love to say I'm surprised but I'm not, not at all with that dealership.

Mine supposedly had the fix, then went back later as the shudder was so bad, the techie who came for a ride with me noticed it when I put it NATO drive after reversing out of the car park! New clutches installed and now, it does it slightly, but doesn't do it as often as before. I took mine to CCC.

Another day, another lie from a VW dealer!

Just reported my DSG shuddering to VAG to get a case setup. She told me not to believe everything I read on a forum - I quickly shut her down when I said there was a service bulletin on ErWIN for this - so no, I don't believe everything I read on the forums!

I now need to go and get a second opinion - any suggestions in Melbourne where I get the least amount of lies and BS?
