Payno, I just got an email from VGA saying that because mine was a priority build (after I complained so much!) that the first arrived GTI in my specification has just been unloaded in Fremantle and that it is being sent over here as soon as it's complied and out of quarantine to be in my hot little hands next week!

Anyway I guess I am going to become an amateur shipping expert over the coming weeks.

Had to put my Polo on the backburner unfortunately... I needed a car sooner so called the dealer and got bumped to the back of the queue, to give me time to earn a bit more money and justify the rego and stamp duty on another car in the mean time.

10-12 months now, and to everyone else waiting who just got bumped forward one: You're welcome

Was 34 days for me - If you have the ETA Data screenshot from NADCON you can get an estimate of the departure from the port with the "Departure Last Port of Transit" line - Mine was one ship off (I got the ship one before the date on the NADCON screenshot indicated)

At least mine is coming from SA so once its on the boat I theoritically don't have to wait as long as you GTI guys

Hey guys, how long after you ordered your cars did you start getting information through NADCOM from your dealers?

I ordered mine on the 18th of February with a deposit. Now its 3 months later and they haven't given me any info still. I've been told to expect early 2012 delivery, and I'm fine with that given I ordered so late compared to everyone else here who is expecting 2011 cars. However not being able to garner any information from the dealer at all is disheartening...

Any ways to go abouts forcing/prying information out of the dealer?

Considering your delivery isn't till 2012, there may not be anything substantial the dealer can give you unfortunately. You maybe could ask for an order confirmation from the NADCON to ensure you are getting the correct car with the options you selected when signing the deal.

Look, to be honest, if you're not expecting delivery until early next year, you realistically won't hear anything until it get allocated a build slot, generally 1-2 months max before it gets built, closer to 1 though....

Newbie to the boards here but just called my dealer today and he tells me that my new Polo GTI (3dr, Flash Red, panoramic sunroof) has just been built on 7 May! Wohoooo!!!
Dealer is saying that it would be ready for pickup mid July.... haven't trawled through all of these pages yet but does that sound about right?

Just a question with regard to terminology on NADCON

I have a Chassis Number which is populated (17 digits which I assume is what we call the VIN)
I have a Vehicle ID which is populated (10 digits)
I have an engine number field that is not populated

What exactly is the Vehicle ID?

For Finance reasons I am being asked for the engine no.. I was just wondering if even though the engine no. field is empty on NADCON that the Vehicle ID no. is what I need to provide?

Have had a few sleepless nights actually wondering if I should have got mine in Candy white instead of Flash red... at the risk of offending others here I think they are the to best colours! When is yours due? Hell I sound like a pregnant mother talking to another pregnant mother!
Have learnt a lot already from just lurking about and seeing what everyone's been up to trying to get straight answers from their dealers re delivery time etc.
Polo GTI, great car... you just have to be patient!
