Tracking Progress on your Polo and Polo GTI

How do you get that list of cars on board. I have a VIN but can't work out how to find my car yet, maybe it's not on a ship yet.

It seems i did write a G down when on the phone to VWA today but maybe the excitement made me a bit dyslexic so i might have got it wrong or it might still be on its way out of the factory.
I'm excited though, i've waited 11 months and 1 week so far. Can't wait for it to be on its way so I can work out when it may end up in canberra. I haven't had a car since about 2007 and dont feel like another canberra winter cycling.

ETA to Melbourne now 19/4 (was 18/4)

My tracking search showed 32 Polos on board....15 x Melbourne, 17 x Port Kembla.
Anyone else on here recently been given their vin, maybe you're Polo is onboard too

Hey Karl,
if you have the correct vin (incl the 6) it's showing no records found at this stage.
that just means its not loaded yet.
If yours is the GTI, it also needs to come from the factory (Spain) to the wharf in Bremerhaven by freight train and that can take a while.
VGA emailed my vin number to me on 21/2 and my car was loaded and left Bremerhaven on 6/3, so can be luck of the draw on this wait tim also.

Can you tell me what port in Aust yours is coming to? Is it Melbourne?
Need to know that too to input info on what ships are leaving on what days

Go to Customer Centre dropdown and select Schedules and then select Search By Port. Input Germany to Australia and then select Bremerhaven to Melbourne (or Brisbane etc.). Input either leaving after date or arriving before date and hit enter. It will give you all ships heading our way and when they are leaving and arriving and days taken.

When checking volume VIN on the Track and Trace page use a % sign for searching. In other words if you want all VIN number that start with WVWZZZ1KZAW34 and the sign to the end like this WVWZZZ1KZAW34% and it will bring up all VINs with that as their first numbers. At the moment that is none, but if you do a 3 instead of 4 before the % sign you will get a list of VINs for cars already loaded and it shows the date they have been loaded or date already delivered to relevant port.

thats a lot of ships going to melbourne!....im surprised that many would be heading to melbourne in such a small period of time

I am pretty sure cars that would go to Canberra would go through Sydney.......its uneconomical to come from melbourne seeing as sydney is 3 hours away.....and melbourne is a good 6 plus.

Yay... My GTI is also on that vessel as well.
Does anyone knows how long it takes for them to clear custom? I hope to have it before Easter. Then i would have a long weekend enjoying the car.

Hey Karl,

I just checked shipping schedule and Tysla has now left (yesterday their time) pretty sure they are 11 hrs behind.
noticed a couple of Polo vins come up in the series run before yours ie 20... Where yours begins with 21... they are both headed for
Port Kembla and schedule says they arrived st Port on the 22/3,loaded on the 23/3 and booked on the 19/3.
fingers crossed yours will be on either Figaro 27/3 or Elektra 30/3.

Mine is currently out of range but the schedule that I copied and pasted into notes has now changed twice since it set sail??
Its now currently two days behind schedule, so they better put her into sports mode (in my dreams)

Funny thing, my dealership rang early this week to say the car is due into Melbourne on 16/4.
The track and trace shipping schedule has 19/4 and now it could be at least 21/4 due to being behind schedule anyway.

Had no follow up email from VGA advising car has even left Bremerhaven but not surprised after reading other posts on here

Good luck with yours loading on one of the next two.

Guess there are a few headed our way, but when you are waiting for yours to load... well I wanted them to sail DAILY

So, it seems that stock is finally starting to come through. 2 months ago, searches on carsales were bringing up 8-9 vehicles available. Currently there are 23 (admittedly some are overpriced secondhand cars that have been there for months). A lot of the vehicles are brand new with reasonable on-road costings.

Hopefully some of the orders will start being filled.

I've been keeping an eye on Carsales each day to see what new ones turn up. One thing I notice, a lot of dealers are hopeless at selecting the 5 Door option and keep putting them up as 3 door. Out of five 3 doors on carsales, only one is actually a 3 door.
