So am I right in assuming we're going to be the first delivery of 'made to order' GTI's in Australia?

Yeah, we'd be pretty close to it, everything else has been dealer specced that people have picked up from the order system I believe...

My Dealer told me that mine will be the first GTI with sunroof that they've delivered. They have delivered on other non GTI Polo with a sunroof.

FYI was in touch with my Dealer (VW Camberwell) and apparently they have a total 2011 GTI allocation of 7 cars!

Hey Frostee, did you know that you too have bought a candy white, 5 door GTI through Bayford? What was your experiences like? I'm interested as GTI JOE was none too happy with the level of service at the Epping branch. Can't say they have been exemplarary lately either, bar one of their employees....

Bayford Camberwell were fine. I can't fault the experience at the time of purchase and the follow-up support has been excellent. They did their best to get info re status of the car but I think they were frustrated at the lack of information that they were getting from head office. They were the ones that told me that a sunroof could be ordered when many were saying you couldn't order one at that time. I then took matters into hand and contacted Germany directly, after which i started to get somewhere. Once those wheels started turning their pre delivery support guy has been fantastic with sending me weekly updates and screnshots from NADCON. He's a really nice guy and genuinely seems to like what he does and likes to keep customers happy.

A VIN Number!!!!!!!!!!

Yes folks, I finally have a VIN#, my car is now built and hopefully heading to the ports. ETA to Melbourne has changed from the 16 June to the 7 June 2011. The little dot is presently at Checkpoint 8 Handover to Sales, date was 18/03/11. Exit Production Plant is today 22/03/11 and Arrival Port of Shipment on 24/03/11. Gav should be there with me, hope so, we all still could be on the same Love Boat

Not sureabout that. It's not as this is some blonde in a short dress looking to sell me paint protection etc.Theguy who has been updating me has been genuinely helpful. If sales push doescome I won't be buying anything
