What have you done with your Polo so far (and today)
^ looks good Lemonskin. Fills the guards out much better and nicer shape wheel. The darker colouring of the wheels goes nicely with the colour of your car too.
Time for some lowered springs now to tie it all in together nicely.
nope, although almost picked up a genuine set before they got sold and sent to w.a.... the Watkins Glen are a gorgeous wheel too...
They're a great wheel, originals wouldn't fit all the well on the polo would they? Even with adapters and whatnot.
Here are the reps I was going to get, since I'm not getting another Polo I guess I don't have to hide them . Think it was about $800 shipped here... Power Wheels Pro :: WHEELS for your PREMIER car

worked it out to be a similar fit to my aristos (also 18x7.5) with the right adapters... 15 or 20mm adapter on et51 depending on how flush you want to go (15 was preferred for me at the time)
Actually on the topic of the most recent recall the mineral oil change recall only effects 2013 models. "Apparently" 2009-2011 models effected by the 35c1 campaign get the new oil as part of the campaign which is news to me becuase from everybody I have talked to about the recall they say its mech and TCU update. That's it...hmm sounds like more VW spin to me.
Not to mention what happenes to 2012 models - they are either perfect OR they just want this group of owners to suffer big time...
So, I've got a MY14 Golf 1.4 TSI with DSG (build week 40) on a boat right now, due for delivery in about 2 weeks. Will it have the correct gearbox oil already fitted or will it be subject to the recall?

Thanks mate! They look even better in real life too! The 18"s really do look much better than the 17"s.
Lowering is next but probably not until early next year. One step at a time

Was lucky to get my car back from the dealer today, strong winds caused a huge power outage around Hornsby and a lot of cars were left stuck up on the hoists. How can I tell that the recall oil change was actually performed? Were they supposed to put a sticker somewhere on the car?
Driving back was in heavy traffic (due to there being lots of traffic lights blacked out) however my initial impressions were that the DSG felt worse, more prone to clunky shifts, but that could just be me paying really close attention to it right now.

They should have given you an invoice showing what was done and no charge
Mine dates the parts (Mechatronic unit) and next line shows 2x oil with the part number ending in12

Hmm that's what I thought, they just gave me the keys and sent me on my way... I guess they were a bit frazzled due to the blackout and having to call up the owners of all the cars they had that were still stuck...

Hah yep confirmed, there's the recall sticker in the boot next to the spare, thanks!
haven't read all the response but I'm assuming you had the most recent recall DSG update and oil change done? I swear my car does a lot more "rough/jerky" gear changes since this was performed on mine too... Odd
Yep, recent recall, my car is MY13 and wasn't subject to the previous mechatronics unit replacement. Maybe they flashed some new DSG software at the same time? I'm very strongly considering the HP DSG tune right now, by all reports the box seems to work better after and Guy claims that it should increase the life of the clutches...
