What have you done with your Polo so far (and today)
Not everyone has access to this and lots of things confuse the hell out of me.
Anyway, this is the only thing I would like to change and I know you can't.

Hi Ben. I had a similar question at the weekend and thanks to sootchucer I have the following tips and response for removing the light
First off I found taking the A-Pillar off hard work, firstly with not knowing how much I needed to pull it, and secondly that my better half would have been pissed if I'd broke something in the car a week after picking it up. There are three big metal clips holding it in, top, middle and bottom. I started at the top and pulled it away from the roof lining and thought you needed to unclip the plastic from the metal clips but they just pull right out. I wish I had taken photos as they would have really helped but I live in the UK and it was raining. Once it's away from the metal A-Pillar it pulls up a little bit to give you clearance for the cable. You will find removing the side panel of the dash helpful as well. I then removed the roof light using the following instruction from sootchucer:
'You first need to remove the clear lens from the light unit (using a very small screwdriver or better still, feeler gauges or a trim removal tool), it just pops out, starting from the back.
With that removed, you will see in the remaining white moulded bulb holder, 4 small clips (2 left, 2 right), which hold the light unit into the roof moulding. Gently lever these inwards (don't use too much force otherwise you might snap them off), until you can prise the light fitting at that corner down and out of the roof lining. Repeat in the other corners and the light fitting will drop from the roof being held only by it's electrical cable.'
I then used some tape and a piece of long plastic strip I had in the house to go from the light to the corner where the A-Pillar was, and then pulled the wire through.
Then just put it all back together with a couple of gentle slaps for the A-Pillar. Oh, and check you are putting the light back the right way round, because I was trying for a couple of minutes, before realising i was trying to put it back in back to front.
Sorry if I have told you stuff you already know but might also help someone else at some point, hope this helps and if there is anything else I can help with let me know
Thanks Michael.
Yeah, getting the light out is the easy part, was just having trouble with the pillar trim. Will the whole trim come off, or just pull back to allow enough room to work in?
added this fella to my tsi. Have wanted a gti wheel for soo long. Picked it up crazy cheap to. A massive beeaatch to get the old wheel off but oh well. Love it. DNA tune on its way next week !
Oh...... with them on the lowest setting at the moment the guards are removing some tyre haha. nothing major though.
Some of the inner plastic guard needs some removal.
