I also notice a lot more torque steer now than ever before
    Stop giving me ideas lol

    • Paddles 100% of the time driving mine, I don't know if this makes any difference to the gearbox but unless I get lazy slowing down I'm always the one responsible for the changes when driving. I certainly was responsible for the changes from 1-2 and 2-3 in that instance lol!

I have the exact same "problem" if you could call it that. Like you said, at first it was fine, take off was similar to a stock car but after a while, taking off became harder to do without spinning the wheels.

In my car, you give it a little throttle and it takes off slowly but if you go over 30% throttle, the car takes off as if you're at 70% throttle, spinning the wheels.

I can chirp with sticky tyres into 4th. Without traction control in even slightly damp conditions, with enough throttle I can wheel spin through all of the first 4 gears

                • Haha,

Good to see you enjoy having a bit of a play around as well Gavs!

What are your thoughts on drive train pressure/load when manually selecting/controlling gear shift under heavy acceleration. I have noticed that I get a clunk on upchange if I shift early due to I assume the tourque and the pressure on the gearbox/clutch.

                    • Today I installed bluetooth in my car, it's all working first time, big thank you to Sootchucher for all the help with the best way to remove the roof light

Now all I need to do is the footwell lighting, and then look into upgrading the MFD computer so that I have full access to the car, anyone else thought about this or has any info that might help?

                      Thanks

                      • Couldn't help but let the engine rev out a bit a few times tonight just so I could hear the DSG fart when changing up...

Clunking is generally clutch related more than anything else, also under hard acceleration, I highly recommend leavin traction control off because it can start throwing fualt codes etc if it gets overwhelmed...

Yep I agree... Traction Control makes a mess of everything and is never the quickest way either.

Mine is off when ever I am 'driving'...

Wish I could turn it ALL off though.

I'm sure you can via VCDS

                              • ^ Nope sadly you can't

When pressing the traction control button it does 100% disable the traction control program. It does not however disable the ESP which means if the car is pushed too far past its (pussy) limits it will attempt to correct (by braking or throttling).

There "technically" is one way to do it in these cars and that's to rip out the fuse for the ABS pump which disables the whole electronics system for the braking...whether or not thats a good idea is your call.

It could also be possible to disable it by throwing an engine fault which also suspends all assists (because it cannot guarantee the engines' operation) - a simple disabling of the coilpack might do it - mind you unless you have VCDS in any of these cases you will have a sh*t ton of error codes...
