    Be careful, XXR's are known to sometimes self destruct, i almost bought a set of these a while back when i was kindly persuaded not too by a wheel whore

        And some plasti dip repairs over some curb rash (you can see the white tape on front passenger side disks).

        • Hi Everyone

          Went to pick up my new car yesterday and went for a quick drive, really like the new car handles so well and the response when you put your foot down is ace

          just the issue with the stereo not having bluetooth that needs sorting

          Just need to know if the 9W7 bluetooth module has to go under the drivers seat or can it go behind the AC? and will the microphone fit in the roof light

          and whats the best way to remove this?

          and will i get full functionality of the 510 radio and MFD? (phone book etc)

          The only downside to the hole car is that the cruse control doesnt show that a digital speed like my Mk 6 Golf did

          • this thread gets the most traffic so i thought id ask here instead of making a new one, but,

            i am requesting someone with a stock polo, a polo with sports pack and a GTI to please measure from the ground (through the center line of the wheel) to the wheel arch for both front and rear and them pm me with the measurements, tyre spec (i.e 215/40r17) and wheel spec (if known i.e 17x7 et46, will be on the back of one of the spokes)

            just trying to make the polo ride height thread more complete by adding "from factory" specifiactions

              Not exactly in the right area ben.


              For all the others, don't reply, i have updated the 'Polo ride height' thread in my post on the first page to include all the figures for all suspension variants on the polos.

                      Hahaha thanks mate the guy at EA said URL feel more powerful once the engine has calibrated? So far it feels stock except with some extra zip mid acceleration?

                      • Yeah it's weird, when I had mine done it just felt punchier all through the Rev range then about a month later I noticed it didn't like traction much anymore, it was a gradual process. I can't take off in 1st with a boot full without tyre destruction. 2nd gear it scabbles for traction too if gunning it from around 40k/hr once the turbo starts spooling.

                        Can't wait for TBE/Cooler install & Stage2 tune

                        • I thought after the addition of the CAI (and due to the fact that my tyres aren't what they once were so not too bothered about destruction) I would take it somewhere quiet, take the traction control off and put the foot to the floor. Complete wheelspin all the way through 1st and 2nd, chirped into 3rd. Childish, but great fun

                          I also notice a lot more torque steer now than ever before

                              Just wondering how bad is this for the DSG?

                              I know from my own experience that the shift from 1st to 2nd when spinning the wheels is extremely harsh and no doubt is putting excessive force throughout the drivetrain - thus why I don't do it any more, I just let off the throttle.

                              If it's doing this into 3rd do you expect the DSG to last long?

                              Don't get me wrong the "fun" side of me wants to do it everywhere! But then the smart side of the brain kicks in and wonders if its safe to do so - and also how much it costs for a new set of Pilot Sports cost...

                              • When you mean harsh shift between 1st and 2nd under power is that with traction control on? Because in my experience if I leave traction control on during a hard takeoff the car will frequently spaz-out during the shift between 1st and 2nd (no doubt there is some wheel chirp when the clutches engauge) which causes the traction control system to completely dump boost which feels quite violent. Conversely with traction control off the slight wheel spin between 1st and 2nd doesn't cause anywhere near the drivetrain shock that the traction control boost dump does.
