Mine was the whole plastic and faux-leather assembly. 2 screws on the inside of the console, some twist, some bend, and you're done.Originally posted by danielv10 View PostHahahaha yep I hear ya mate! got around to dealing with, what I think, was the most stupid feature on the 6r. they managed to squeeze in tire pressure sensors, side mirror dimisters, full sized spare and state of the art airbag systems. but they forgot to include this?! shame shame shame

bonnet gas strut!! (yes I did remove the old hook-rod thing after the picture)

Nice - always handy. How much does the gas strut it weigh?Originally posted by MarcusAurelius View Postgot around to dealing with, what I think, was the most stupid feature on the 6r. they managed to squeeze in tire pressure sensors, side mirror dimisters, full sized spare and state of the art airbag systems. but they forgot to include this?!

I agree. I had built to a budget, carved out of stone low tech falcons with gas struts on the bonnet.Originally posted by MarcusAurelius View Postgot around to dealing with, what I think, was the most stupid feature on the 6r. they managed to squeeze in tire pressure sensors, side mirror dimisters, full sized spare and state of the art airbag systems. but they forgot to include this?! shame shame shame

But all the tech savvy, state of the art, nerd built, jap and Euros iv owned none have had gas struts. WTF?

Is that a home made job or a kit from somewhere?
Does it use original holes or did you make some yourself?

just a 20$ strut from supercheap, as similar to the a3/golf single strut. had to drill two 6mm holes and one 8mm. and some basic calculations. were no original holes cause no 6r's had holes supplied.Originally posted by lunchboxGTI View PostI agree.
