What have you done with your Polo so far (and today)
now, recently have had some comments about the look my 77tsi (all good) and in particular, one about the "wrc" look i currently have going on with the white Aristo wheels. So i got to searching on the interwebs, trying to find out what wheels the Polo WRC car actually uses. All i could find was that they were O.Z racing. this was good, as i have been looking at getting some lighter wheels for the odd track day (currently 22kg/corner) and was looking at Alleggerita in either red or acid green (just to be different, pics to follow). So i went back to the O.Z website to see what i could find. Low and behold, as i scroll down the page, i come across the Superturismo WRC, in white, with red lettering... perfect (pics to follow). next step is to head to AMG Australia (importers of O.Z, BBS and others, not related to Mercedes amg) to see if they have them and if they will fit. and they do. 17x8 et35. have sent them an email regarding price and postage. then went to Alloywheels in the uk to get a price from them (have heard good things about them), can get the wheels for $1332.22aud delivered. the next step would be finding the right size semi-slick tyres for the polo and a 17x8 wheel (215/45, 225/40? [toyo proxies R888]).
also, to keep relevant, i plasti-dipped the front badge white (nothing big, and again, pic to follow)
TL;DR
to go full WRC look, or just #becauseracecar???

Looks fantastic dude! You've got the ride height perfect and those rims look awesome with the Candy White. Loving it! 77TSI Represent! Haha

loving this, but.... i prefer the gram lights (yeah, you said the wheels were temps, just saying)... have they been sold yet by any chance?
just need to do something with the tail light now, plasti-dip "fogging" (clear smoked??) perhaps to matte them out like the rest of the car?
Still got the grams lights sitting in my lounge.
I actually have some smoked matte film for the tails but decided against it considering the blue boys are smoking (pardon the pun) hot on that... plus your insurance company will also play hardball if someone rear ends you.
ATYPIC, looks the goods just needs some mars or OEM black tails.
MrDeathLad, I got my oz wheels from allloywheels as well. Took less then a week. I didnt pay any customes tax as i made them split the invoice in two ( cost of wheels and freight cost) as hey where going to send it as a total on the invoice which takes you over the $1000 allowed.
I really like it Brad, thanks for the pics mate, You''ll need to bring it over to the barracks and photograph it side by side with our Bushmaster LOL.....as you say, there is a bit of poke and stretch happening there. Agree with MrDeathLad, darken those tails to add more to the stealth theme. InCamo a go go

I paid $1500 fitted from the dealer. Fairly happy with how they look, unfortunately it shows up high the GTI is though (especially in these pics) might be forced into some sort of lowering even though I don't won't to take any risk warranty wise.
Awesome. And just for future reference, unless you post delails of wheels and or ride height in the other thread, the post will most likely be deleted. There is also a dedicated picture thread ("visual appreciation thread") kicking around somewhere. So if no time to take messurements/ check wheel specs, would be best to post pictures in there.
I've had my polo for 8 months now and have it dropped on coilovers. Not stressing about warranty as it seems that it's mostly the dsg that will "fail" and will be hard for the dealer to knock back a warranty claim on that because of an unrelated part (someone please correct me if I'm wrong in saying that).
I also have the 77tsi version which seems to have less issues than the gti, though not comlpetely bug free for some.

This one's for you Mario and MrDeathLad. Opportunities for a proper photo shoot were cut short due to the crap weather on the weekend.
If anyone has opinions about the wheel poke illustrated here... I'm not listening ok . These wheels are only on the car temporarily.
I've seen this in the flesh and though I'm not a stretch fan (I'm all about performance I like poke though!) it works on this car. This is a phenomenal looking machine and yes, the plastidip on the exhaust tips is holding up fine!
Brad, I'd look at getting the factory smoked lights an also wrap the lower reflectors in the rear bumper...

Appreciate the comments mate. Are you suggesting I wrap the lower reflectors in the matte camo green or smoked out like the tails? I first will try the frosted clear plastidip just to eliminate the gloss, if it looks sh#te I can just remove it and try the smoked option.
