ill weigh in, to me it looks like youve bought some plasti dip and walked around your car looking for things to paint... I understand ppl doing wheels etc, but random parts all over the car, not a fan... reminds me of myself as a kid painting all random bits of rc cars etc... just my opinion, each to their own...

Sorry I think that came out the wrong way. I love any mod anybody does to their car. That's what they are for and everyone has different tastes and fully respect the modding community.

So please don't take it the wrong way I'm not bagging it or anything, I'm sure the things I do to my car makes people go "why did he do that?"

I don't thing the gold skirt strips suit, they look very, well, patchy in the photo when I am sure in real life, the coating isn't. The skirt strips tie in with the matte, textured plastic of the grill and by painting them gold it visually looks out of place. The same goes for the rear 'diffuser' when looking at it in 3/4 view. To make it suit better, i suggest 1 of 2 options.

1) Spray gloss black to match the body of the car. I suggest spraying your plastidip on the rub strip, then spraying over the pastidip with colour matched pearl black so it matches the body. This way, you can easily remove (i gather that's the way with why people use plastidip) the coating if you don't like the look. This look with give you a highlight line running under the door sill which may or may not suit, i can't be sure.

2) Buy a textured splitter off maxton design and spray that gold also. Then spray the lower lip of the factory rear diffuser gold as well and you will have a visual balance around the car, from front, side, rear and associated 3/4 views.

I like where you're going with the black and gold theme (not to be confused with the home-brand type black and gold!) but I also think leave the GTI stripes red, it give that notion of pedegree back to the car and it will offset nice with the gold.

I have a thing against denvers being painted black, it's too much surface area for me to paint black and then when they get dirty and the tyres aren't the same gloss, it all looks a bit blah to me, that's why i suggested to spray a gold-flaked candy over the outer face ala detroit style. It would carry over your gold theme without being in-your-face.

Gave my roof and spoiler a clay and some Dodo Juice hard wax this arvo. 2 applications of it came up real nice.

I needed a second look, for a second there I thought you installed a light, powerpoint and roller door module on the roof of your car hahah

I'll be honest here but I don't like the gold on black at all. It's probably just me but like what has been said before it looks like you have just gone around the car looking for stuff to paint. You need to be very particular where you want to plasti-dip.... luck you can just strip it off I suppose it aint that expensive.

I am one who doesn't like black rims so this could be the reason and I like to keep my car looking as original as possible. The reason I bought the GTi wasn't to cover up the badges and trim it was because I want that to stand out.
