Hmmm good to know! I'll be needing new tyres in the not too distant future and will be have a look at these. How many km's can you expect to get out of them?

So far so good...
Today marks one week of ownership for me and I've just ticked over 1000km, a nice round number. Obviously I've done a lot of kays simply for the joy of driving the little beastie, with a good mixture of freeway commuting, local streets cruising and hammer time in the hills.
Couldn't be happier! Only filled up once (it was delivered with a full tank), the oil level hasn't moved a millimetre and I've not had any squeaks, rattles or other annoyances.
I'm still gobsmacked at just how versatile the GTI is - it cruises/commutes with the comfort an mid-size auto, is very comfortable despite the firmer ride and low-profile tyres and goes like a cut snake on mountain roads. All of this while delivering 5.3L/100km on my daily commute and still returning mid-sevens on average when having some fun. No wonder it's won Motor's BFYB award two years running - for the same money there's nothing even close.
Fingers crossed the trouble-free run continues!Polo GTI MY13 (CTHE) | 5D | CW | Sunroof | DL Tint | VW Handy Adapter for iPhone 4/4S | DHL disabled
VCDS tweaks: XDL - Strong | Brake Assist - Hard | Auto Lock Doors/Hatch - On | Two Stage Unlock - On | Audible Locking - On | Lane Change Function - 4 flashes

When i drove back from Adelaide with my GTI I found it averaged about 5.5L/100km, but despite being mostly 100-110km highways again I was giving it some stick

I'm sure I wouldn't get that economy on the way home, but I'm yet to find out as I seem to keep "accidentally" getting lost resulting in a detour into the hills
I'll have to get some numbers for a pure hill sprint as the cruise there and back returns an artificially low number in the mid-sevens. 8.1L/100km++ wouldn't be a surprise at all.Polo GTI MY13 (CTHE) | 5D | CW | Sunroof | DL Tint | VW Handy Adapter for iPhone 4/4S | DHL disabled

I'm really hoping the CTH engines won't suffer the same oil consumption problems and that my DSG won't play up, but I'm not naiive enough to think it can't happen to me. If it happens - c'est la vie - I'll deal with it then, but for now I'll put the blinkers on and hope for the best!Polo GTI MY13 (CTHE) | 5D | CW | Sunroof | DL Tint | VW Handy Adapter for iPhone 4/4S | DHL disabled

Had a new set of rubber fitted and balanced; Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE002 and wow! Night and day. Oh, and my alignment was spot on.
I have the RE050A on the Polo (stock tyres), and RE002 on the Swift.
