Borrowed a Ross-Tech Hex+Can USB cable from a mate and made the following tweaks:
- Changed Brake Assist from Center (0) to Hard (2)
- Changed XDS from Center (0) to Strong (2)
- Enabled auto door and hatch locking (> 15km/h)
- Enabled single lock function (single button press unlocks driver's door only)
- Disabled Daytime Headlights, including parking lights and number plate light (required physical fix as well - halogens, not xenons)
- Increased Lane Change function number of flashes from 3 to 4
- Enabled Audible Confirmation of Locking (horn)
Happy with the results!Last edited by AC74; 28-01-2013, 08:57 PM.Polo GTI MY13 (CTHE) | 5D | CW | Sunroof | DL Tint | VW Handy Adapter for iPhone 4/4S | DHL disabled

What's that like on the Polo? Is it a long beep or just a quiet bip bip? I was just wondering because the Polo has a mother of a horn. You know it's German before you even see it.Originally posted by AC74 View Post- Enabled Audible Confirmation of Locking (horn)Alex Aescht

It's the actual horn. Same as tapping it quickly. It is loud though. People walking past will often jump. Wouldn't do if you don't like getting looks in car parks. But you do no its locked.Originally posted by alexaescht View PostWhat's that like on the Polo? Is it a long beep or just a quiet bip bip? You need the Ross tech VCDS cable. Around $400-500. Got mine from dub addiction.Originally posted by TorqueSteer View Postif I wanted this done how can I get this ? I would love to have this

It gives one short pip of the horn but lunchbox is spot on - it's loud enough to make you jump if you're standing next to the car! I'll see how it goes and if it's too obnoxious I'll disable it.Originally posted by alexaescht View PostWhat's that like on the Polo? Is it a long beep or just a quiet bip bip? Thank you both. Sounds like the kind of thing I wouldn't want.Originally posted by AC74 View PostIt gives one short pip of the horn but lunchbox is spot on - it's loud enough to make you jump if you're standing next to the car! Getting your hands on the cable is the difficult (read: expensive) part. You can download the software for free and the work itself takes no more than 10-15 minutes once you know what you're doing. If you go to the VCDS Technical Resources thread there's heaps of useful info and you might be able to get in touch with someone local to you who would be willing to share their cable and knowledge.Originally posted by lunchboxGTI View PostYou need the Ross tech VCDS cable.
