What have you done with your Polo so far (and today)
Hey just quickly, does it show the water temp with the TSI? If it does that would be awesome seeming all of us with boring midline MFD's and no physical gauge for the temp have no idea what's going on in the temperature department
it shows battery volts for 10 seconds after starting, no water temp.
Can anyone comment on whether gti coilovers (ap brand ) would fit into a 77tsi. I have noticed a different axle weight/ part number but would they actually fit... If so what are aps like compared to stock sport suspension
Yes, I have that exact combination. The AP coils fit no problem. I also ordered the sport suspension but they were no where near low enough.
Have the rear sitting at it lowest without removing the adjustable ring, and have 3 cm left at the front tread. Ride is definately more stiff! and grip is about the same, in my opinion the stock sport springs are pretty damn good already.
After four days of ownership, the BT Touch Adapter displaying useless information in Portuguese was starting to irritate me (distracting in peripheral vision) so I messed around for a bit and managed to change it to English but also discovered the brightness and sleep functions so it is now at its dimmest setting and goes blank completely after 15 seconds. Ahhh, much better Hopefully the VW Handy Adapter for iPhone will arrive this week so I can get rid of the Touch Adapter altogether.
Also turned the brightness down on the RCD510 and find it much better also. I don't suppose there's a sleep/screensaver mode for that as well? Haven't studied the manual for the RCD510 yet.

I'm not sure whether I should go for LED's or a HID kit w/ ballast now that they are so cheap.
hey mate, from memory there is a guy which did a thread in the polo 6r section and he explains everything how to install and everything if u didn't know . and I think you should go with LED

Its a strong LED so you dont need the reflective film, it works fine on the factory glass at night and day. a little blurry without the film since it reflects off the inner and outer layer of glass, but still clear enough.
plug and play, no need to hack your dashboard or stick cable holders all over the dashboard. The cable is flat and easily slips in between the gap between the dashboard and car wall. No cable visible. very easy to tuck all the cables away into gaps in the car without taking apart anything.
theres also an iphone app which does this, simply shows your digital speed in big reversed letters, so when placed under your windscreen, acts as a HUD

only really works at night time tho
Yeah I've got that on my iPad. BIG BIG speedo you can't miss Slides off the dash a bit too easily though.
Today I had my 15000km service (got the DSG software update, everything else was normal) and yesterday I got 4 new shoes - Goodyear Eagle F1 Directional 5's. Not the best out there, but they're already a lot better than the Dunlop OEM's and I'm on a bit of a budget.
Got an email from carstyle4you telling me my two switches are finally on their way, too! Garage opener and sound actuator toggle here I come!
Gaz I wanna mod mine too but dunno which ones?!?! Led for looks or hid to dazzle other people but actually have use?!?!?!?!
Don't know mate there's a few out there.. And HID kits are so cheap these days. Since they are for the fogs, there is heaps of room to mount the ballast and since they are the sand price as LEDs I'm kinda leaning towards the HIDs but they'll both look great I think.
Hrmmmm.....

Today I finally got the ****s with my 195/55/r15 ContiPremiumContact 2 Tyres after 29,000km. They pull to the left very slightly by design, they are noisy, **** in the wet and have a lot of sidewall mushiness.
Had a new set of rubber fitted and balanced; Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE002 and wow! Night and day. Oh, and my alignment was spot on.
