What have you done with your Polo so far (and today)
Alrighty so black tails are here. As are Front and rear footwells, LED interior lights, CH/LH switch and a few more goodies.
But for the moment the tails;
I'm quite tired so I will be brief for the moment.
Yes it is easy enough to remove the red fog light cover on the left hand rear tail. It is just a matter of unclipping it. Easier than what Polodave encountered on his pair. To remove it though, I'd recommend against baking the tails and separating the lens. The lens seems far more cheaper than the red stockies, even though it is OEM too... I damaged mine so I may eventually re order another one just to do it perfect. (damaged a corner and cracked the lens, covered it up though!)
I also tried smashing fog cover to try and remove it in bits, but that only marked the inner lens. Behold the trusty solder, melted it into 5 pieces, and used pliers to wrench them out. 30 mins and they were ready to go.
After removing the fog cover;
Debadged GTI, black VW, trying it out.
IMO they look great, but from some angles a little on the cheap side (like too ricey)
I'll chuck the other one in once I get the LED bulbs into the tails and take more snaps.
So there you go, it is VERY easy to do black tails, just remember to put a red bulb into the RH side fog light, and to remove the fog light cover by melting it into pieces.

I will do a write up if people want one.
Cheers!

Today I spent the best $58 of my life. I had my exhaust resonator removed. It hasn't made the exhaust note remarkably louder, it's just changed the tone to a nice, aggressive growl. It's not too "ricer-y" and the DSG fart noise is amazing. Honestly, when upshifting under load, it 'pops' in every single gear. No droning on the highway and 100% un-noticable when idling. This is seriously the best upgrade (other than the APR tune) I have done.
This is what was taken out. For a size reference, it's sitting on the box my spare 17" wheel came in.
I haven't had the chance to make a video of my own, but here's a German Polo with the same modification. If anything, the one in the video is a bit louder than mine.

I gather you meen the front muffler? i keep meaning to do this but am waiting on a full exhaust. might just bite the bullet, I need more noise!!!
How did they join the pipe? Did they weld some replacement in or just use clamps? Interesting that they cut the pipe behind the muffler (if it's the centre one) because there is a clamp about 150-200mm just behind it from memory.
To be honest, I haven't had a good look. I've tried to but I can't get under the car enough to check it out properly yet. I'm going to assume that for the price they charged, they've just welded in a new section of mild steel. Next time I check the swaybar bolts I'll check it out properly.
Cool, off to the pipe shop today or tomorrow for me might get some extra length to do a ghetto style rear muffler delete too while I wait, just for fun

You should get some weight reduction from that mod too... haha
$58 is a rather good price for that... might add that too...coz i want more noise as does gavs..
