ahhmmmm....wow, as in expensive..right? That price seems way over RRP, I'm assuming there was no negotiation as well. A lot of people getting ripped off with this supply and demand crap....again

The next person to make stupid comments about advertised dealer prices gets an infraction. If you do not understand how "on the road prices" are determined, then DO NOT POST.
If you DO understand, but expect a dealer to post a "pre-negotiated best price" then you're just ............. <-- insert word(s) here.

Anyone who's ever sold a car (even privately) knows that no matter HOW reasonable your price is, a customer will come up and EXPECT the price to drop x%. Therefore, as a private seller you list the price as more than you want to get in your pocket. As a dealer, you just list the RRP of the car with all the options + all the onroads. Then when a customer comes, you can negotiate from there...

So seriously, if you don't understand that... just don't post.

seeing that i already have one of these beasts in my possession; im pretty happy for these cars to sell at such a high price without heavy discounts.

Well... we have no idea of the price that the customer ended up negotiating for the car. Hence, we don't know whether it was high or not and therefore anyone making comments is doing so without basis.
Obviously a dealer is not going to advertise a pre-discounted price, and they're not going to come back and state what the car sold for, because it is no one elses business but the dealer's and the purchaser's. I'm getting frustrated that I have to point out these things to people each time a dealer posts a price on these forums. Hence my above warnings.

I know there has been a lot of discussion re pricing of the Polo GTI. Spare a thought for our firends in Singapore

VW Polo GTI launched in Singapore

At current FX the base mode with no options is approx A$90K!

Don't forget you then have to add to that the cost of Certificate of Entitlement to actual buy and register the car. This is done by bidding under tender and there are a limited number of COE's available each month. Current price is around A$30K!
