as for the extended, yes it was genuine, however i haggled heaps and can't remember the total cost of it.
Thanks, your configuration is pretty similar to what I might be looking at - hence why I asked. Does the tire insurance cover any damage? Would be pretty good if you're driving on some questionable roads fairly frequently. For city driving probably unnecessary - can't remember the last time someone in my family had a blowout.

covers most damage, including curbing scraps! my price includes a fleet discount, so don't feel unhappy if you can't find something with a smilar price with those extras.

          • Put my deposit down today for a 3DR Shadow Blue Polo GTI with Audio/Comfort/Xenons for $34,000. The dealer actually misquoted and meant to sell it for $35,000 but he stuck to his word so massive props to him for that!

            • Hi guys,

I'll use this post to re-introduce myself, and share a bit of my story, currently I have a Golf MKV FSI with a few mods here and there, and now waiting on our new Polo, so, here is our drive away......

We bought a Polo 77TSI, I have to say, after of doing a lot of car shopping in the new and used market, this car offers (from our point of view) the best you can get related to the segment of the car ofcourse,

VW let us drive one of their 77TSI demos for a complete day, stock without packs, obviously the old OPH was the target, the drive is awesome!, in the corners and hills, the DSG recovers in a good way the rev's needed for the engine after strong braking or corners uphill, good stability fun and a bit of kart exparience on it, nice sound of the engine, no more noises inside of the cockpit, pocket rocket with heaps of possibilities for upgrades, we are very happy with the deal we got for it, and at the end of the day we came back to VW with a big smile and a YES!,

But?, what about the price?, who can give us the best deal?, well, here we go with the strong negociation, first drive away price was $32K on road, mmh! no really attractive isn't it?, we decided to walk away and quote in other dealership, then the sales guy told us "give me one more chance, I'm new and I don't know how much discount I can get" and he went to find the sales manager after them talking for about 10min, the mananger told us "If I give you my really best and last deal, will you sign now?, but there's a catch, there aren't cars in the stock and the next delivery will be until december" we looked eachother, she said ok, show me......and this was the deal,

              Polo 77TSI DSG Tornado Red
              + Comford Pack
              + Sport Pack
              + RNS510
              + Free Onroads
              + Window Tinting = $25K Drive away,

Plus the normal "free" stuff, VW umbrella, 2 key rings and floor mats

              .:Polo 6R 77TSI
              .:Golf MK6 GTI

              II Kraftwerk

              • Wow, that's an exceptional deal there!

And lol at the "normal "free" stuff"... have a look around and see how many people get umbrellas and floor mats

                  • Hi Everyone,

New to this site, but seems like a very informative and helpful place.

Pls accept my apologies if this is the wrong thread, but I wanted to run this by you all.

                    Got a quote today for

Polo 77TSI Comfortline with DSG and the following accessories...

Audio Pack (RCD 510 + MDI)
Comfort Pack (Rain sensing wipers + Type pressure monitor + wrapped steering wheel)
Genuine Bluetooth (interfaced with the RCD510)

I am off my feet with a broken leg so couldn't visit dealer (Nth Syd Dealer) in person but the best
I could get out of him on the phone was $26,500 Drive Away. Delivered not until late Feb 12.

According to my calculations the actually RRP Drive away for that configuration is $28,646 so the quote is just over $2100 off RRP.

Anyone have any thoughts on this price? Not bad I guess but after reading some threads was hoping for more. I have no issue
haggling, nor shopping around, however so far not many dealers which have been receptive, particularly considering the current wait
time for the vehicle, which I would have thought would work in the consumers favour.

If you have recently found a better deal in Syd area, I would be greatly appreciaitve if you could let me know which dealer
you spoke to and what the deal was. It is a little hard to haggle over the phone but am limited to options at the moment.

Partners car is an 18yr old Barina which is literally about to fall apart and thought I would use my time laid up productively.

Thanks in advance for any comments!

                    • Ok we took the plunge.

Were looking around but were put off by the long wait time.

Rang around and amazingly enough found a dealer who had a Polo arrive
Fresh off the ship last week, optioned out with what we wanted, plus a few extras.

We ended up with the following...

Polo 77tsi with DSG in flash red.
                      Audio Pack with iPod cable.
                      Comfort Pack
                      Sports Pack
                      VW Genuine basic Bluetooth
                      Polo floor mats
                      Weather shields
                      Full tank of fuel.

Got the lot for $28,200 drive away from a dealer just out of Sydney.

The best part is we pick it up on Saturday!

                            • GTI Price

Orderd mine through a contact at VW Five Dock

2012 VW Polo GTI 5 door, Black, Audio Upgrade, Blue Booth, Comfort pack, Window tint, Xenon & Sunroof = $36,500.
Although I emailed them today asking if i can change it to candy white, fingers crossed. This should bring it down to $36,000.
Expecting delivery in lateish Feb 2012

Although, after reading through these posts im starting to think that even with having someone who'll ' look after me' (being a mates mate)- i dont think i was looked after all too well!

                              • Have been looking around & pricing cars for some months. I'd gone off buying a VW because of all the blatant rip-offs I've seen with 2nd hand/demo polo gtis (I've seen some with no options & 5000 + kms being advertised for 36-38 grand). After redoing my sums however, the Polo GTi makes the most sense for both purchasing & operating.

So today I went in & placed my order for a:

                                Candy White
                                3 Door
                                Audio Pack
                                Comfort Pack

                                Total on the road $31,950.00
I'm pretty happy with this price & don't mind a wait (since I can save extra money towards the purchase).

I have one question though. When asking about bluetooth the dealer said it isn't standard, but it wasn't possible to option it. I thought that it is standard for the 2012 model year. Does anyone know anything about this?
