Is it? I thought the current Polo GTI price was 26990 + ORC (it comes to $30660 on road for NSW on the VW site)

If the NEW Polo GTI is the same price as the outgoing model it will be the bargain of the century considering it now comes with DSG (a nominal $2500 option) as standard.

The NEW Polo GTI hasn't been officially released so VW is unlikely to have yet released final pricing to its dealers.

I got a Polo 77TSI 6-speed manual in 'Reflex Silver'. Optional extras include: upgraded stereo (with 6-stacker CD, MDI and touchscreen), Bluetooth, tinted windows, carpet floor mats and first major service included for $23,395 driveway. Shepparton Ford/VW dealership in central VIC.
Still waiting for delivery! Was quoted early mid-September, but the latest ETA is late October!

I've noticed that the old Polo GTI has dissappeared from the VW website as has the price.
New model and its price should be out soon.

            Hi

We are looking at getting a Polo TDI 66 DSG, most people on this thread seem to by buying the TSI's, is there any reason we shouldn't be looking at the diesel?

have currently been quoted drive away price of 28k before fleet discount and not including extras.

We have been offered a fleet discount, no one here seems to have mentioned them, does anyone know what to expect as we havent been given a definative number yet, though have been told it would be minimum $1k.

any info offered is much appreciated!!!

The corporate discount (presume that means 'fleet') for my 77 TSI DSG was just over $1K.
Polo 77TSI DSG, Candy White, sports, audio, comfort packs. Rear Parking Sensors, carpet mats.

How many do you have to buy to get "corporate"? Or just had to know the right person and bargain hard?

It is too late for me now, but would be useful in the future!

Well, whats the extra cost of the TDI over the 1.2L TSI? Then calculate how many kms you will need to travel to recoup the extra $$$.
Next you have to put up with a rattly diesel over a smooth turbo petrol model.

Personally, I dont understand the benefit, for most average drivers, of the TDI Polo over the 1.2TSI.

That is what we figured as well. The 1.2TSI has great economy and much better than the car it replaces. Would take a long time to recover the purchase price.

77TSi 5D Polo, Red, DSG, comfort pack, sports pack, MDI/touch screen audio upgrade, alcantera/leatherette interior, bluetooth - under $30K drive away.

3-4 month lead time on delivery. I can't complain about the wait, especially having ordered the car less than 2 weeks after its release here and with almost every option available!

Re the TDI - personally, I didn't like it - sounds like a truck in idle (which is std for a diesel), felt less 'lively' than the petrol and I don't drive enough for justify the increased cost of a diesel.

That and the car starts with 95 premium as a base fuel to use, if you use 98 Premium it burns a lot slower (I tested this in cars that could run on unleaded petrol and gained a good 50-75km's extra per tank city/normal driving only) so i would believe the TSI is the better option by far. The TDI seems to be like a FAD that wives and possible people who think it will save a few whales would find attractive etc etc (I don't mean to generalise but i did ), sure its the next thing after crude oil and is cheaper to make, but if you just buy regular diesel (not the vortex version) it completely defeats the purpose of having one.

There is an exception such as the Audi R10 Le mans car which uses diesel but thats over a period of 24 hours which means higher torque and more average kilometres per litre.

The way we drove it tonight, it's going to be getting 200km/s to a tank LOL. Great little car, the missus is wrapt.

I have the Audio package included - would you say a 3 month additional delay within the bounds of reasonable? My wait is now 6 months from making my deposit.
