You just got to haggle mate.....I said to the Rather ridiculously attractive woman who was trying to sell me the tint and paint that i can go to tint a car and get it done for $400 when she told me that the tint would cost me $800 and she said she would match my price because she needed the business. I didn't care about paint protection...The germans know how to paint cars. not like mazda.... cough

I wouldn't worry about the paint protection, there's a long winded thread about it in another section of the forum, but basically it's not really worth the price tag. I fell for it too initially but asked to have it removed which they were fine with.

Getting the tint done at the dealer isn't too bad though, if theres any issues (like i had with mine - bubbles on the passenger door window) they can fix it during your service without much hassle. Mine cost $400

Just put a deposit on a TSI, White with Sunroof, DSG, Comfort Pack, Sport Pack, mats included and extra year of warranty (total 4) for $27K out the door.

Happy with that. Hoorah to EOFY.

I picked up a white 5 door MY12.5 GTI a week and a half ago for $32,168 drive away. The salesman said there was a mistake on the Car Sales website but honoured the price.

12.5 Pepper grey 77TSI with sports and comfort pack. Pushed the boat out to get the front windows tinted.

Carpet matts, boot liner, tank of fuel and umbrella come as part of the usual sales pitch.

Opted for the 3 year insurance against minor damage (scratches, dints caused by the car park trolley brigade). Insurance will also cover us if the wife uses the 17" alloy parking sensors to gauge where the Kerbs are! $50 per call out on top of the insurance price.....

Car = 23500
Insurance = 750
Tints = 0

Total = 24250 drive away

Expect delivery at the end of September.

My gut tells me the car price is fair but not convinced I have made the right call on the additional insurance! Can always pull the pin on that if you folks convince me I was had...

I've never seen an aus delivered GTI with privacy glass on the rear (you only get it in the normal Polo sport pack) and it's too dark/illegal to be put on the front windows. Mine has been tinted front and rear.

My local dealer are trying to sell me the stock 12.5 in black ("pearl paint is extra") GTI for $34450 drive away. They also have it in stock, which is handy
Even if the paint is supposedly $500 extra, that's a big difference in price.

I got my White 3 door with xenons & sunroof for $34,363 drive away. Even with the metallic and 5 doors, that's a bit steep. There's plenty being advertised at the moment. Shop around.

I got mine metallic black with xenons and tints for 340000 drive away. so 34450 is a bit steep. mind you I waited 8 and half months for my car last year.
