Are your plates listed separately on your quote? Premium plates should be included in the standard onroad costs. When I sent my quote off to my lease company they rejected it and told me to get the $99 charge for plates removed because it should be included. Only $99 but better in your pocket than VW's. Wish I had haggled for mats in mine. I went back 3 days later and paid through the nose.

For me, it is listed, but was included in the overall price so I didnt really mind.. Plus it says like "Drive away discount - $4379" so *shrug*.

I got my 5 door Shadow Blue GTI second hand, MY12 model first reg'd Feb 12. Picked it up in December 2012 for $26k. Was stoked. got a great deal because the couple i bought it off were having a baby (their third) in a few days and wanted an urgent sale. Polo doesn't fit three kids

Heading up to Brisbane to take a very close look at a Polo GTI this weekend, going to try to get a deposit down for a white 5 door with Bi-Xenon headlights for $32,000.

This might not be the thread for it, but what are the sort of things that would play to my advantage during the negotiation process? Taking a MY12 model seems to be an obvious one, but I suppose they will also be more interested in selling floor stock rather than ordering a car in?

I dont think I would contemplate a MY12 when for a few thousand more you can get a current model. Its early days but the new engine seems to be behaving a lot better with regards to oil consumption. I know not all cars have the problem but I wouldnt let VW gamble with my money. And if you arent thinking of keeping it forever, I think the future will say a MY13 CTH engine car will be worth a lot more than MY12. More than the usual 12 months difference.
