Problem Fixed, they have lined it with insulation foam/and bracketing unit (same as fuel line problem)
Now the seal part is very...interesting, product/component failure all seals have to be replaced car is staying overnight til parts arrive.
Dash was removed from the car to rectify rattle but well worth it!
Also chucked in a free wheel/toe alignment as it was slightly off (quarter turn)

Any minute now, gavs will jump in to tell you why your "free" wheel alignment was not such a great deal...
I can't remember why, so hopefully gavs will enlighten us.2011 Polo GTI | Black | 5 doors | Comfort pack | Audio pack | 9w7 Bluetooth | Xenons - a Return to VW!

Depends on if the toe was off and by the sounds of it, yes it was so they would adjust that to correct it. It's the camber that can't be adjusted per say, you can get a tiny amount by altering the ball joint but I'm talking about seconds, maybe minutes worth of adjustment (as in the measurement, not time takenDegrees, minutes, seconds etc), not enough to really be noticable. For full-on camber adjustment, have a look at what Guy put on teh H&R coilovers that went in teh APR polo, that's the only way you will get adjustable camber.
In regards to teh steering wheel, that's a boo boo at the factory and would need pulling off and putting back on again I would thinksigpic

drove the car, its fixed xD they pulled out the entire dash/Steering wheel then re-did all the front dash work including cluster, steering column/wheel, Radio/CD stacker etc etc...no sounds, very very happy and it was all undertaken via warranty

Finally had enough of my seat squeeking so the car went in this morning. I actually believe my whole seat was never properly mounted to begin with. I'm driving to Gold Coast in December and there's no way I'm tolerating that sound for that long.
Also asked for the fuel line/knocking sound behind dash issue be addressed.

Clucking noise on steering
Any 1 out there heard of such a problem on polo's? When turning there is a "cluck" on the left hand bottom side of the car. Its driving me nuts and vw south africa cant solve it. After they have replaced the wheel hubs and bearings, the top strut mountings, the wish-bone rubbers etc etc and 2 steering racks ..... the "CLUCK" is still there when turning. I noticed the americans also complain about it when surfing the net, but no one seems to have a sollution

First off, if they have replaced all these components, have they over-looked a loose bolt? If not, the gearbox mount on that side could be loose/ moving..... Have you got the DSG or manual gearbox?sigpic

Gavs its a manual..Are u refering to the bolts under the battery platform? If so there was one missing - (thats the small one connected to the body) but all were checked and tightened again including a replacement for the missing one.
Had the car at a diffrent dealership today and the first thing they came up with was the steering rack...Come on how do these vw guys think..After explaining to them that even that were replaced they just pulled up them shoulders. Personally i do not want to fiddle around 'cos of warranty issues BUT sheeez somehow i must find the problem.

We had a 9N GTI that had a clunk that seemed unsolvable from the left front. Most pronounced when changing direction while braking at low speeds.
Turned out, that the hub and bearings were moving inside the knuckle assembly. The knuckle must've been poorly machined in production.'07 Transporter 1.9 TDI

Took the wheel off today myself. stripped everything and guess what??? Bearing is broken and the deflector ring is missing. Took off the other side and deflector ring is missing as well. What more can i say. Me trust in this dealership is down the drain. will take the car to a diffrent one on monday with all pictures taken etc etc.
Anywayz thanx for all the info guys.................

Good to hear you worked it out, how that could have been missed...... Well....
In referance to what I was saying, the dsg has a myriad of clunks and rattles that are just down to how the whole kit operates, that's what I was refering to there. Kaanage on here took his car back to VW on a warranty issue (but that's another story altogether!) and they mis-diagnosed his clunck also, turns out that it was a flogged engine mount. I've had the same thing too on my last non VW car (damn toyota hilux, so much for "unbreakable"!)sigpic
