I am having a small problem with my 2 month old Polo.

In lower gears, if Engine RPM goes above 2000, on pressing clutch, I feel pulsations/vibrations. One day while driving, there was a ghrrrr/khhhhrrr sound from below and this issue exists since then.

Secondly, car jerks slightly while taking off from start. Is it a clutch problem?

My clutch never slips and my FE is very good.

Sounds like a master cylinder issue. Back to the dealer my friend an replicate the problem.

Driving about today, the lightbulb (!) warning light light lit up. Got out, looked for the blown bulb, couldn't find anything. Switched the car off, back on again, no warning light. Anyone had this?

Could be your brake light? Did you check these. Just put a brick on the brake pedal while the ignition is on and have a look

This happens to me all the time. Occasionally its the left hand indicator but rebooting the car sorts the issue but most of the time its nothing.

Yes took it to them and they said its not an issue. But the pulsations are bothering me.

Not a problem just a question... Is it bad for the DSG to put it into neutral while driving? I've taken to shifting it into neutral when I come to a large downhill run because I don't like the way the DSG shifts down to brake using the engine.

I guess I coudl always just shift up manually but I just find putting it in neutral is easier.

Yes it is bad for the gearbox to do this. The reason is that the gearbox does not have any oil circulating through the gearbox unless the car is in gear, and so the box can overheat if it is in neutral for a long time.

The engine braking is actually a much better way for the car to hold its speed downhill as
1) you don't use any fuel when in gear
2) you aren't riding the brakes downhill and so they don't overheat/wear prematurely

I thought the 7-speed DSG on the Polo was a dry box, so there's never any oil going around it anyway.
