Yeah that has to do with the brake assist system assuming that because you are pressing fast and hard you require a lot of breaking. It then quickly raises the pressure so that the wheels can then be locked up and use ABS if required.

Yeah I thought the brake assist would have something to do with it, I just thought it was weird that if I pushed slowly enough it would go right to the floor.Alex Aescht

2nd Jan 2013: Cylinder 4 misfiring. Cause was oil dirtying the spark plugs. Fix was a software upgrade and cleaning spark plugs (how would this fix the issue?!?!?!?!?!?).
25 Jan 2013: Came back from holidays and put 100km on the car. Cylinder 4 is misfiring again, GTi got towed to storage and wont get to VW until Tuesday.....
Getting very annoying... Has anyone else had this issue?

I was at the lights today and my Polo GTI was accelerating off standing start...the car shook and engine revved; it felt like I may have gone over a pot-hole and the wheels couldnt get traction - except there was nothing wrong with the road (its a road I drive on regularly). Is it a problem with the DSG and gear changing?

I have a 2012 Build Polo 77TSI DSG (no mods).
Heavy rain in Sydney today. I was at the traffic lights at the on ramp onto the M4 via James Ruse Drive (the one which is under the M4) here. Water was pouring like a waterfall from the M4 down directly onto the car at the traffic lights.
Instantly, a E something light came on (EPS I think), the engine went into limp mode (couldn't rev off the traffic lights) and traction control light came on. I drove off from the traffic lights onto the on ramp onto the M4 (in limp mode), the E-something light and traction control light remained on and car was still in limp mode. Pulled over, no change. Only after turning off the car and turning on again did everything go back to normal.
The rest of the day drove normal in the heavy rain, it only happened under this waterfall of water coming down off the M4 directly onto the car.
Not sure if this was the normal safety stuff kicking in? I don't remember which E light it was, I don't think it was EPC since i think it was on the bottom of the left rev dial where as the EPC light is on the top of the left rev dial. 100% the light started with a E, and think it had a S. But in the manual, nothing about a EPS light, so maybe it was EPC.
I'm thinking maybe I should get the log checked, but don't have the software and would prefer avoiding the servicing department until I have an idea of what is going on.

having a look under the bonnet, there is no water seal on the left or right of the engine bay.
in normal rain wouldn't see a issue, but if rain was heavy enough water can easily go all over the battery and wiring.
going to put water seals to stop water getting in and bring it up at service.
could be more a issue of badly designed sealing rather than other issue.

So my 3rd set of clutches were installed on Friday and after extensive testing they're are still not right so I'm getting a whole new DSG.
They aren't sure what is causing the issues but it could be something around the control module (aka all the global issues they are having with the 7spd DSG).
Wonder how long the new box will last?????Polo GTI - 5 door - Candy White, Xenons, Comfort Package, Audio Upgrade, Bluetooth, Parking Sensors and Tint
