Well the mrs has done just over 4K now and got her first problem last week... A loose sway bar mount bolt... Came loose randomly...
What I dont get is why there isnt a free check up after 1K like most to make sure everything is running smoothly
Early check-up varies from dealership to dealership. It's not something that is endorsed by Volkswagen Australia. As it's free to the customer, it is at cost to the dealership. Other manufacturers reimburse the dealership for the first service.

Chances are it still wouldnt have been identified. That stuff should be checked, though is unlikely to have been at pre-delivery. Luckily it's just a sway bar mount. Checked your wheel nuts lately??

Had parked my Polo GTI for about 5 days untouched... struggled to turn on, third time it came on with a big plume of black smoke for the first 5 seconds.... Oil burner heyy?! (about 180ml per 1000kms I've calculated)
If anyone else notes this after leaving off for a while, chime in please!

Silly question, does the recycle air function for the air conditioner always switch off once you turn the car off?
If I have the air con running and turn the car off it will be on again, but if I have air con and recycle air functions on, and turn the car off only air con will still be on next time the car is started.

Tells you about it in your manual I think. Does in mine
IT also tells you not to run for too long on recirculate as stale air can send you to sleep.
