Any way the car is booked in to have a closer look on Wednesday.
Yeah a couple of guys over on .net.au are having the issue with their R's making the same sound. My Uncle's 'rocco R is doing the same thing. I'll be in at Barloworld at 8AM sharp tomorrow for a Mechatronics swap on my GTI so I'm going to go ahead and ask them then. I'll get back to you guys when I have any info.

    • I took my car in for rattles again (2nd time) last week and i reported 3 rattles, 2 front passenger side and 1 boot. They got someone to come for a drive with me and whilst driving 2 of the 3 rattles could be heard. They managed to fix 1 in the front and the boot one. Both were loose wiring that just needed to be secured. The front one was wiring near/in the A pillar that was going into the visor and the boot rattle was on the left side of the car.

Just tell them where they are and let them sort it out!

              • Why do people with these kind of dealer related issues continually go to the same dealership?! Really people, if you are not satisfied with the service at the dealership you bought the car from, or any VW dealership for that matter, don't go there and tell others not to go there!
You have no obligation to return to the dealership you bought the car from, unless like some dealerships, they offer you an extended warranty that isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

I know I'm the worst offender for this, but if its a dealer fit accessory (eg Bluetooth, parking sensors) I believe you have to go back to them.

                  • Now my drivers seat is squeaking like mad... especially when going over speed humps or when I have the audacity to move around in my seat. I have read that others have had the same problem in this thread.

It's a nice car to drive, but it seems like there's a new problem every week and it's really becoming irksome.

Welcome to Vw ownership If it doesn't rattle or squeak, it will eventually.

Haha... well I actually fiddled with the position of the seat and now it seems ok. I'm sitting a bit higher than I'd like but at least it's quiet.

Well the car went in to Norris VW yesterday and they didn't find or fix the rattle, they want the VW Rep to have a look/listen. I don't know what that really means, they said they would call me. I hope it is something they will fix.

                          • When I to Barloworld to have my Mechatronics done they claimed that it's most likely the runners that the seat is on making the noises.

                            • Ours goes in for a new DSG clutch pack in two weeks, plus having the sunroof rattles fixed.
The 5L of oil in 11,500kms was deemed to be within acceptable limits.... Not the best.

Exactly the same here mate. My clutches are getting replaced in a month and oil is about the same.

At least they now believe me that there is something wrong with the clutch!!!
