So picked up my car yesterday...here comes the excuses list from my service center:
*Clutch is fine as it fell within VWs slip range from clutch to gearbox to engine*
*Plastic window seals need to be inspected by VW inspector...sheesh*
*A/C Unit has smell but advise the customer to purchase an anti bacterial treatment* Dafuq? that metallic smell has been there since delivery*
*Steering issue #5 (sent in 5 times) Steering fell within acceptable range, recommend customer tests on even/flat surface as most roads have camber...Gee I guess I don't have an International racing license?
*Missing firewall part = replaced = Factory fault*
*Rear vibration sound = Mechanic previously submitted that aftermarket exhaust was causing the vibration however upon a comprehensive sensor/analysis carried out by the customer the vibration was located in the rear boot hatch gas strut (right side)*...bloody muppets.
All in all...Once I'm done with this car...she is going to have the engine converted to the 3.2 v6 from the R32...then I'm joining the Merc crew.

Experienced the misfire issue again last Friday, not sure if it is circumstantial or not but it happened on the same stretch of road, around the same number of KM in between it occuring(roughly around 4,000 kms), the only difference is that this time the misfire went away after stopping and restarting the engine.
Scheduled to be looked at again on Monday!!!
On the bright side, oil consumption seems to have dropped significantly after 6000+ kms , only seen around 100ml drop since it was topped up 2000 + kms ago. I was burning 400ml per 1000km prior to that. The car is just a shade under 9000 kms._________________________

Quick question - I know it's winter but still. Just now it's 18.5 degrees and afternoon and haven't driven my car since last night. The car is smoking from the exhaust, everytime I start it and warm it up. Have been now for 8mins and the temp of car is warming up. What's with the smoke? Car is cold, engine is cold... Smoke? I'm not that savy with engine business. I normally warm it up for between 7-10mins like this for example.[FONT=Franklin Gothic Medium]Matt

for all you gti oil munchers due to the excessive oil usage and the replace pisston rings fix not working the new fix has now just been released as of yesterday the modified engine breather pipe 03c103474ad tpi 2025520/5 engine must be using over 500ml over 1000ks so you might still have to have oil consumpion tests also as part of the tpi is a software update for the engine ecu so all you boys that have chips might have to get reflashed by your tuners afterwards the pipe is an easy replacement and software update should only take no more than 2hours all up. parts may need to be ordered in so you could have a little wait.

Hi Guys,
After my last update I have still had ongoing issues with my Polo including:
- Rattling from engine bay which has been present since day 1
- Problems with DSG when coming out of P
- Broken trim after attempted fix to rattle issue
The car has now been with the dealer for 4 weeks. They have determined that the rattling is caused by the heater assembly (last time they replaced the heater box but it didn't fix it) and so are replacing the etnire heating assembly. They have also determined that there are bigger isues with the transmission and are completly replacing it (as fixing te clutches did not work), and they will replace the Trim which is broken.
I have spoken to Consumer Affiars Victoria about the issues. Apparently they have recieved a fair few complaints about the Polo's and they have determined that they are not of Merchantable quality. They have been contacting VW Australia for the last 6 weeks in regards to this, and VW Australia is not responding. They have now advised me to go to VCAT for a resolution as their reposnse so far have been far from acceptable.
I strongly ANYONE who has had problems with their Polo to contact Consumer affairs in their state (as does Consumer Affairs). Any large defect with this car is unacceptable, but VW clearly does not wish to resolve them. The more cases with Consumer Affairs, the more likely it is we will ALL get a satisfactory outcome to what is an unacceptable situation. As Consumer Affairs has said, VW Austrlia are even giving them the fob off, which is completely unacceptable.Last edited by msolok; 03-08-2012, 03:14 PM.

G'day,
I picked up my new Polo 77TSI last Saturday and by Tuesday the alignment went off. It is pulling to the right.
For the record, I didn't go over any potholes or any significant bumps, just your regular suburban Melbourne roads.
Going back to the dealership this coming Tuesday. Wondering if they gona charge me.
